AW: Home Improvement Projects

This is what I did all weekend.

Gallery wall with pops of word art and red frames in our hallway from the foyer to the bedrooms (sorry for the slightly not straight picture- there's no way to get it straighter due to the angle of the walls).  Just waiting for my Shutterfly order and then we can call it finished!

Guest Room, still a work in progress- needs pillows, an end table (yep, that's a suitcase) and more wall art.  I made the curtains, assembled the embroidery hoops and painted the painting.

Re: AW: Home Improvement Projects

  • I love that gallery wall!  Very cool, and inspiring as well.  I might have to try something like that on one bare wall that annoys me.

Yay for it all coming together!  Looks great!

  • I love it, Mary!  I especially dig the pops of red; I love decorating with splashes of red in my own house.  I keep wanting to do a gallery wall and the idea of hanging all those frames keeps intimidating me.

Sidenote: Rach totally reassured me that mixing metals and woods (blacks, browns, silvers and golds) all together is okay, because she has gorgeous groupings like that in her own house.

  • Thanks!

MB, I'll come up and do yours if you buy the plane ticket.

Tara, you can totally do it- I used a tutorial (cutting pieces of paper out in the shape of the frames and arranging before leveling and really hanging the frames).
