We will be going with my sister and BIL. We are going to try and catch the Astros game at wrigley field.
Ither suggestions of things to do? Places to eat?
Re: Chicago hotel recs.
The Sofitel is awesome but it's been a few years since I was there. We also stayed at the Hotel Rafaello which is a block east of the Hancock. Very nice and very convenient location. Definitely try to get to the top of the Willis Tower (former Sears Tower) - the glass balconies at the top are super scary/cool. '
If you like or feel like trying Turkish food, there is a place not far from Wrigley called Turquoise. Delicious and very much a local feel.
I've stayed in these and would stay again: Hard Rock, Four Points by Sheraton, Westin (the one north of the river), Hotel 71, the Hyatt on Wacker, oh and the Hilton Garden Inn I think it was called. A few blocks east of Michigan on a quiet street, St. Clair maybe.
Love me some Portillos for a lunch or quick dinner.
We also enjoyed a lunch at the Kerryman Bar. Most of the rest of our food recs are outside of downtown.

The Dana Hotel is a really cool boutique hotel.
FYI - There are no good hotels very close to the Wrigleyville area. For places to eat in that vicinity, I suggest walking 4 blocks to D'Augostino's for amazing thin crust pizza.
The bar scene in Wrigley is always a good time and great people watching during home games.. and really, any time.
Check to see if there are any fests going on during your stay and check out Millennium Park.
I stayed at the Fairmont and thought it was a great hotel in a very convenient location.
If you have the chance, I recommend taking the tour of Wrigley Field. I bought tickets online in advance. Since they're at home while you're there, you won't get to go into the Cubs clubhouse, but they may take you into the dugouts and the on-deck circle, which is very cool.
Sofitel is great. There's a Comfort Inn that is probably the closest Wrigley hotel. It books very early though and is not in downtown by anymeans; however it's a short bus ride or walk to the field.
But staying downtown, you'll be able to catch the Red Line train and take it to Addison. It'll be obvious which stop to get off at.
Ian's is a to-go pizza joint that originated in Madison, WI, but is located in Wrigley and has unique pizza flavors like mac & cheese, BBQ potato, lasagna, etc. Sports Corner and Murphy's Bleachers are on Sheffield, right behind the game and are popular before or after game spots. Bernie's is on Clark St and another popular before game spot.
If you're coming from out of town, I'd assume you want tickets for Wrigley itself; but there are also a rooftops surrounding Wrigley that offer food/drink package. Often you get can them on Groupon/YouSwoop/etc, for $70+. You get a view of the game and unlimited food and drink.
For other activities, I defintiely recommend an Architectural boat tour and/or Lincoln Park Zoo (the zoo if free)

We enjoyed our stay at the Avenue Hotel of Chicago.
Food-Giordano's for excellent Chicago style pizza.
Art Institute and the Chicago History Museum
We like the WIT as well as the Dana Hotel. In May we are trying the Hard Rock Hotel.
Cafe Iberico-Tapas and great sangria
BIN 36-great wine and cheese (they have food too)
Table 52-southern food
Tango Sur-Argentinean...steak is so good and very reasonably priced
Girl & the Goat-not sure what to label the cuisine
Trattioria No. 10-Italian
Weber Grill-Barbeque
Merlo on Maple-Italian
The roof top bar at the WIT has great lamb sliders and fries. Their main restaurant is good too (DH liked it...I thought is was okay), I can't remember the name though. We like their Lake & State restaurant for breakfast.
