Recommend your carpet cleaner

I'm trying to find a carpet cleaner so I don't have to borrow E's mom's or rent one each time I want to clean the carpets. So far I have found a Bissell that I like but I'm not 100% set on it yet.

Tell me about yours' if you have one and what you like about it?

IL's have a Bissel. I had trouble getting the resevoir back on when I filled it. Once I figured it out though it got the white carpets in the apt attached to their house looking like new. I should have taken a pic. They were nasty between DH and I wearing shoes in the apt the last few times we visited and the dogs. Why do people buy white carpets?

Great to know! I think I'm going to go buy it tomorrow. Between your comments and the reviews I read I'm convinced.

Thankfully our carpet is not white, its got a few colors in it so it hides dirt well but I want to get the pet smells up. Oh I'm so excited now! Thanks Sammy!

I've had a Bissel for years and it's amazing. I have two cats, and one of them eats too fast and makes herself sick.....the Bissel has removed every stain and every odor. It's helped me clear base housing and several apartments:-) DEFINITELY a good investment.

You should also get the carpet powder that you put down before you vacuum. I get the Arm & Hammer pet one that's like $3 for a box, and every few times I vacuum I sprinkle it down first and wait like 10 minutes. It helps freshen the carpet and your vacuum. We started using it because our old vacuum started smelling like dog when we would use it. Now that I got a Dyson it's a million times better, but I still love the Arm & Hammer stuff.

I'm also a Bissel owner. It does great work on pet stains and smells.

I have the Bissel Pet. I think the only difference is that it came with some extra attachments. I really like it and it works great on the couches, too!

I've had a Bissell since before we got Rudi. It does clean well, but I find it difficult to clean the unit when I'm done with it. I have to use pipe cleaners and wood skewers to clean out the part of the machine that sucks up the dirty water and between the brushes.

Beach I actually use the carpet powder already! Its great I love using my vacuum after I've used it the last time because it smells so yummy.
