That's my daughter in the water, everything she knows I taught her.
Hello everyone. I have shared with a lot of you but thought I would come on the board and say I had a baby girl Tuesday night and share my birth story. On Monday night after work I had some lower back pain and mild contractions which I assumed were from working Monday after being off for a week. I took a bath and they went away and I still planned to go on the last minute table filling (thanks livingitup) luncheon Tuesday. Tuesday at 4 I woke up from the back pain again and had more contractions which were mild and about 7-8 min apart. Ryker woke up at 5 which was unusual and I just brought him to bed with me and tried to rest. I took him to school at 8 and after I ate my contractions slowed again and stopped completely by 9:30. I cancelled the luncheon to sleep. I was gettingcomcerned that I was not going to know what real labor was when it finally started with all of this false labor Anyway, I went out to my DBT group and at 6:30 while there I started having contractions again 7-8 minutes apart but pretty mild. I started thinking that just anything beyond resting was overturning me. I got home just before 8 and was still contracting and I finally decided to call the insurance company nurse line just to ask them how will I know when it's really labor. At this point the contractions were getting more intense and closer and they suggested I go to the hospital to get checked. Then i called my mommy(right?) thinking she would know better and she even said to go in. So I called my OBs office and the babysitter. By the time the babysitter arrived I was pretty sure it was labor and I was spotting blood which really freaked me out. By now the contractions were about 3 minutes apart and really hurting. I wasn't having an easy time walking or talking through them. When I got to the hospital at 9:45 and the nurse checked me I was 7cm. I told her to get me an epidural. They had to get an IV in and do blood work first as well as register me so it took until 10:30 to get him there and at 10:45 they had me layback down after getting me the epi. As soon as I did I felt I had to push and my water literally exploded across the room like a scene from a horror movie. I feared for a second it was poop especially since my H and the anesthesiologist were standing at my feet when it happened. The nurse looked and they could see her head and told me to stop pushing which is pretty much damn impossible. For reals. They had to run out to get the doctor and she made it back in as the baby was crowning. I pushed one time and she was out at 11:04. Nadja Wren is 7 pounds, 2 ounces and 19.75 inches with lots of dark hair. I cant post pics since im on my phone but i will later We are both doing awesome. My recovery is so much easier so far. We are checking out and going home any time now. Sorry for the text wall.

Aww yay! Congratulations! I can't wait to see pictures. The name is gorgeous, I really love it.
I also wish I could be a fly on the wall of your water bursting room. Mine didn't make a noise but the feeling was so distinct that I'll never forget it. Like a water balloon being squeezed too tight in my stomach.

Congrats! You are the second person I know who heard their water break. A coworker said she was bent over laughing and heard it.
But so many other people I know didn't even know theirs had broken. I'm hoping for a happy medium between horrror movie scene and being clueless. Bob is already joking about putting puppy training pads on the couch when I sit down in the next few weeks.
Congratulations! That's a really pretty name, too.
I, too, had that moment when I was told to just stop pushing...I remember thinking that was just plain mean.
Projectile water? Dude, that's awesome!
Congrats on your beautiful little girl.
omg! I love the projectile water burst!
Congratulations on your new baby, winged!
AWW that is so sweet.
Congrats!
