Makeup Recommendations Needed

I need a good smudge proof mascara.  For years I have been using Maybelline Great Lash and had no problems. The last couple of months I can't go 2 hours without definite dark smudges below my eyes.  Yuck.

I also need a new highlight powder. I have very fair skin (I am always the absolute lightest shade of foundation in any brand) with red/pink undertones.  A lot of the highlight shades I have picked up in the drugstore have washed me out or been way too dark and just looked wrong.

I'm also due for a new blush... But because of the pink/red undertones I seem to have a hard time finding one that doesn't make me look like a hot mess.

I have a $50 Sephora in JC Penney gift card that I would like to use, but I also have Macy's, Target, and CVS close by. These are the few things I know I need, but if anyone has any other recommendations for products I don't know I shouldn't be living without, I would love to hear those too!

Re: Makeup Recommendations Needed

  • I use Maybelline Great Lash too, but noticed the same thing and switched to the waterproof formula. It seems to work be a little more effective staying put and not smudging. As far as blush goes, I like Nars in Orgasm. I have red/pink undertones and this blush goes on lightly and looks very natural.

  • Thanks for the ideas.  I will check them out.
  • I'm also super fair, sometimes more fair than the lightest shades in the line! Anyway, I've been using warm soul mineral blush from MAC and I love it! It's like a bronsy warm pink so you don't (well, I don't have to, so I'm assuming because you're fair you won't to need to either) use any bronzer with it. I've actually been meaning to ask here if that was norm - not using bronzer with that color. Anyway, you should stop MAC inside Macy's and check it out. They can also help you find other colors that you might like for your color and then find dupes at sephora or wherever.

I will definitely check this out.  Thanks!  Lately I have been using a bronzer only, with no blush, because otherwise I looked like a clown.  :-)  Maybe this way will be better.  Thanks again!
