Rec Your Heart Rate Monitor

I know that chest straps are most accurate but I'm not even sure where to start with one. Any recommendations welcome, either chest strap or other wise.

Re: Rec Your Heart Rate Monitor

  • I have the polar f7. Its the same as the f6 except you can change the battery yourself (they last about 2 years). Its good for tracking workouts. If I were doing it all over again, I think I would get something more along the lines of Body Bugg/FitBit/Body Media. You either need to buy an output display or subscribe to software. However, you can find out if you get more bang for your buck working out in the morning or afternoon and a better accounting of calories. I've heard that checking perceived exertion can be more accurate than hrm's.
  • Luckychic.com has a pretty good deal on the Body Media arm bands but I wonder about how comfortable they are? They look kind of bulky.
