One of my BFF's is turning 30 in June. The rest of our "group" doesn't turn 30 until 2013 so she is the first, including her husband who is my age.
I personally, am not too upset/concerned about turning 30. She, on the other hand, is totally freaking out. She had tried to plan a trip to Vegas with some of our friends but that didn't work out (we couldn't commit due to Kenzie) and is a long story which ends in another couple friend of ours going without them ![]()
Anyway, I suggested to her DH that we plan a surprise party of some sort for her, but I'm really not coming up with any good ideas. It wouldn't be a huge party I don't think. Somewhere between 15 to 20 or 30 depending on how much of her family would attend. Anyone have any great ideas?
Re: Surprise 30th Birthday party help
My sister had a lemon themed party. It was cute and fun. Here's the inspiration board: http://pinterest.com/bgates/lemon-party-ideas/
and I think this is AMAZING - http://www.edytaszyszlo.com/blog/2011/10/02/diy-leahs-surprise-30th-balloon-birthday-party/
I love the one Cole posted.
We did a surprise birthday for my dad when he turned 40. It wasn't anything special... Just a cookout in a park.
I'm really terrible at planning surprise parties... Well, actually parties in general. I think my wedding was the only one I've been satisfied with.
How is the weather up there in June? Maybe an outdoor thing, picnic, games, etc.
What does she like to do? I think you should plan it around what she would like. So for me, a perfect party is a bbq/pool party, but another friend loves to do bowling and play pool (do they say billiards in Can?)... so maybe something like that. I think you can do more details when you figure out where you would have it....
