Baby Blanket I made and some bags...

I haven't posted what I've made in over a year because I keep forgetting to take pictures before giving the items away as gifts!  Just made this for a nestie friend.  Love the sheep fabric!  Minky is on the back.

Oh, I do have some photos of totes I made for Christmas gifts that I never posted!

  • Those all look great- I especially love the Coastal tote!  I should make one for MIL to match her husband/ sons' belts!

I am making another one of those bags for myself, but a little larger, to use at the beach.  I am making a beach blanket to match, too!

  • I love the crab and plaid tote! Great fabric and color combo. :)

  • I love the tote bags!  Are those pockets on the front? And did you use a pattern/instructions you can share?  Thanks!
  • I used this tutorial, but changed the dimensions to make a bigger bag.  There are six exterior pockets and the bag is reversible.  The pockets are really deep.

I also used fusible fleece interfacing to make the bags a little padded and more durable feeling.  Along the edge of the pockets, I have the inside fabric of the pockets showing a little, sort of like "faux" piping.

    Super easy to make!

  • These are all awesome! I am OBSESSED with the crab tote. Any chance you'll share where you found those fabrics?

The fabric collection is a Michael Miller; Going Coastal by Emily Herrick.  Pretty sure Fat Quarter Shop, Hawthorne Threads, and Fabric.com have most of them, if not all of them.  I bought mine when they first came out last summer/fall and they were selling out, but probably back in stock by now!

I am obsessed with the crab fabric, too.  It comes in orange, blue, and gray.  I am about to start a beach blanket/quilt out of the collection of fabrics.
