  What do you mean by OK, like safe?  I think that area's fine, it's just a few blocks from the national mall.

  Also not sure what you mean by ok. I wouldn't want to live there, but that's because it's full of tourists. It's not unsafe, though if you wander drunkenly 10 blocks in the wrong direction you may regret it.

  My husband works a few blocks from there, and the area is fine.  Maybe a little crowded and noisy, especially near the metro stop and the Verizon Center, but I wouldn't have any qualms about staying there.  That being said, I wouldn't walk around there at 2 AM, but I imagine you won't be out late with two little kids!
