  • What do you mean by OK, like safe?  I think that area's fine, it's just a few blocks from the national mall. 
  • Also not sure what you mean by ok. I wouldn't want to live there, but that's because it's full of tourists. It's not unsafe, though if you wander drunkenly 10 blocks in the wrong direction you may regret it.

  • My husband works a few blocks from there, and the area is fine.  Maybe a little crowded and noisy, especially near the metro stop and the Verizon Center, but I wouldn't have any qualms about staying there.  That being said, I wouldn't walk around there at 2 AM, but I imagine you won't be out late with two little kids!
