Traveling to Europe!

Ok, so my girlfriend and I are planning on going to Spain in October. We aren't sure if Spain will be our only destination, but it's where we will start.....I think! I was wondering if any of you girls know a good website to book international flights? I'm having a hard time finding what i want.

Also if anyone has any ideas of good vacation spots in Europe besides Spain I would love to hear them! :)

I wouldn't change a thing...it's all led me to you.

Re: Traveling to Europe!

  • I used kayak to book a lot of my flights.

What type of destination are you looking for? i.e. beach, history, etc.

I LOVED Paris! Greece was really nice as well especially Santorini.

  • I've traveled pretty extensively in Italy and loved every second of it.  Ditto Dmarie on Santorini and the rest of Greece being absolutely gorgeous!  Turkey had some great deals on leather goods, if you're into shopping.
  • I think we are looking to visit southern Europe so this is good advice! We are looking for a little bit of everything. I'm not sure about where to stay...hostels, hotels? We would like to save some money on the stay, since we probably won't be in the rooms too much.

  • As to where to stay, it would depend on you. I refused to stay anywhere where I had to share a room or a bathroom (yes, I am a priss) so it cost a bit more money.

We used the Fodor's travel books which recommends hotels in 3 price ranges: budget, mid and splurge. If you don't mind the quarters, hostels would be the cheapest.

One piece of advice, if you do go to Santorini, don't scrimp on a hotel. The views are so breathtaking that it is worth the extra $. We actually got take out every night and had a bottle of wine on our terrace because it was so beautiful.

If you like history, Pompeii was really cool in Italy. And if you go to Naples, let  me know. I will let you know where to get the best pizza Wink
