My Blog
Thanks ladies. I was able to convince my new doc to prescribe me meds wo coming in. I've taken them for ever but they wanted to see me. I told them I was sitting on the shower floor with hot water pouring on me... They eventually prescribed me some pills. Still hurts but it doesn't feel like my head is going to explode anymore

Aw, I'm sorry... Those aren't fun. I've never had one so bad to need prescriptions, but the ones I do get knock me down, so I feel for ya.
Feel better.
Thanks everyone. I'm sorry to see that so many of you get them! They are so aweful.
Yvonne - one of my BIGGEST fears during pregnancy is migraines. Bc I now there is nothing good you can take. I'm sorry your getting them during pg.
I do feel better now. Now I just have the "Migraine Hangover" (or so my mother and I call it) where if I bend over, sneeze, cough or run my head throbs. Oh boy

Are your migraines period related? Mine are and I haven't had one (knock on wood) since I got pregnant. I fear that when I stop breastfeeding I will get them again. I don't get them often, but when I do they linger for days. I have a coworker who had the same experience -- totally migraine free for her pregnancy -- so I hope that is what happens for you!
(as an aside, I thought I was getting one the other day, but took tylenol and a nap before it really kicked in and it went away -- turns out when I went to the chiro today that my neck is out of wack and that is causing my headaches..phew!)

What are you looking at?
Unfortunately mine aren't period related, which totally sucks. My neuro told me when I was getting off my meds before TTC that one of three things could happen, 1. My migraines could get better or go away completely during pregnancy, 2. They could get worse, 3. They could stay the same. At first it seemed they were staying the same or even getting better, but as the pregnancy has progressed, while less frequent, I think they are getting worse in intensity and duration.
I hope yours stay away when you do get pregnant! And Maria, I hope yours stay away too!
Mine don't seem to be however, I have had one a month since I got off the BC and they seemed like they were on the same day until yesterday. I thought it was happening right before ovulation but that may have been a fluk. And I've been getting them since I was 13 and that was before I got my period...
I wish I knew what triggered them. Yesterday it was really weird. I got out of the car, DH and I walked into the grocery store and all of a sudden I got really light headed, my ears felt like they were clogged? Needed to pop? and then 10 mins later the aura started. It was not fun.
I really hope that I don't get them during pregnancy, and I REALLY hope I don't get one during labor. I don't know what would be worse.
Anyway, today I'm suffering from the after effects, (affects?) I had to skip the gym even.
Yvonne, hopefully your's go away after birth and Maria I hope yours don't come back either!
