Does anyone use (or can recommend) sew in labels?

I'm overwhelmed by all of the choices.  Please recommend your labels.

Thanks!

  • I've made my own with some of that printable fabric you can buy at JoAnn's (3 sheets or something to a package for like $9.99). I'm looking for some woven ones to upgrade to, but for inexpensive, but they work for now. I just cut them down to size (I fit a LOT of labels on one sheet) and then sew across the top and the bottom with a straight stitch.

  • Thanks for the responses!  I just read a tutorial about doing your own which I think I will try and then move to something higher quality later if necessary.  That etsy shop is cute but a little more than I was hoping to pay.

    Thanks again!

  • A lot of online shops will do a thousand and throw in some care labels for about $150. If you design the whole label. What ever kind you buy or make. Make sure they can be laundered they same as the product your put them on. I had to upgrade to a type of label that you be dry cleaned without losing its lettering. I found that out the hard way! LOL

Where do you get labels? My MIL wants fancy fold up ones to sew into seams and I'm not even sure where to start. The internet is too big!

  • I'd like to hear any recs on woven labels.  I've been printing my own and ironing on to ribbon, but my printer is a piece of caca and the colors are not coming out right.  I would love to purchase some woven labels but there are so many choices and such a huge price variation on Etsy that I would rather use someone that has a good reference.

    This is a great thread!
