Who's going to see it today/this weekend?
In related news: I swear I'm not obsesssed, but I'm getting my hair colored this weekend like Jennifer Lawrence's now.

Re: Happy Hunger Games!
I want to see it, but at the same time don't. I will be CRUSHED if it doesn't do the books justice. So I'm waiting to hear some of the feedback from real people.
Also, her hair is gorgeous and that color would look fantastic on you. Please post pics.
H hates the movies (I know, how did we end up married, right?) so we never go. Literally the last movie I saw in the theater with him was The King's Speech (sob).
Anyways. Even if I could drag him to the movies he wouldn't see this. Luckily, everyone in my book club is stoked to see it, ever since we read it last year. So I'm sure I can convince at least one of those girls to go with me one night next week.
Awww... thanks guys! I need a change. I've been pigeonholed into dark for awhile because I usually have Madame Clairol dye my hair. I'm excited to go lighter for spring.
And Fein- from what I've heard... they do the books justice. I try very hard to completely separate the book from the movie. They only have 2 hours... and NOTHING beats one's own imagination. So I just try to see the movie as an adaptation based on the book. Usually then, I'm not so disappointed if certain elements were left out or added.

I've heard that some elements have been changed and/or left out specifically because of what imoan mentioned. They only have two hours so they simply cannot do everything the book does.
I'm seeing it Sunday afternoon. I'm thinking about rereading it between now and then for a refresher.
I actually learned of one scene that they added (not in the book) that I think will be a heartwrencher and will simply enhance the story! So sometimes it goes the other way!
Definitely re-read it, Kaneen. I read it this time last year so I decided to re-read it before the movie. I'm SO glad I did.

Getting that separation is an all important part of enjoying a movie adaptation. Honestly, I don't mind it when things get cut because I do understand their time limits (ex: they cut Tom Bombadil out of LotR, which was sad, but yeah, he wasn't that major).
What bothers me is when they completely change characters for the sake of a movie. (Another LotR example: Arwen was not that important, but apparently they felt they needed to have a stronger female character?)
I want to see it, but I just cannot stomach a crowd of teenagers enough to go any time soon, if at all.
The last movie I saw in a theater was Black Swan. The last movie I saw in a theater with DH was....wait for it.....Star Trek. Seriously.
We don't go to movies, as you can tell.
I really want to see it, but I have no one to go with me. FI wouldn't go and none of my friends know anything about it. I will wait for it to come out on DVD.
Is the movie just based on the first book? I'm assuming it is so that probably means there will be three HG movies?
Sometimes the most fun I have at the movies is when I go by myself! DO IT!
And yes, the first movie is based on The Hunger Games. Catching Fire and Mockinjay will be separate movies.

I just heard there will be four. They're pulling a Twilight and splitting one of the books in to two movies. I don't know how they'll pull that off, especially if they decide to use the third, since I felt like the last book was mostly fluff with some explosions.
