Ok so how do you know you're a fast reader? What's your speed (lol)?
How long would it take for you to read The girl with the dragon tattoo for example?
Re: Fast readers a question!
Dunno, never timed myself but now I'm curious!
Can you read as fast in English as you can in your native language (don't want to give you away and say which language).
Somebody on P&CE linked to a speed reading test the other day, I'll dig through and see if I can find it.
ETA: Here it is: http://t.co/UGHsAi5V
My speed was 1246 words per minute.

I think it has something to do with it. I am going to time myself on an easy book in English. But I believe I might be slightly slower in English.
Holy moly that's fast! I thought I was fast, but I was only at 496 words per minute -- but I guess that puts me in the top 3%. In all fairness, though, I have to say it's Friday afternoon and I just started on my third beer!
If any other slow readers like me opened this post out of curiosity, I scored around 250.
I used to feel bad about it, but I actually don't really want to learn to read faster, because half of the reason I read is just to enjoy the language. I like to savor the words. I worry that if I read faster, I would be missing out on the nuances of the language. Probably silly, but oh well.
