Trying to help a friend who's a Mary Kay consultant...any great products to recommend?

I'm african american...so any tips for a medium brown complexion would be great...but I am thinking about just getting a few staples to help her with a fundraising effort.

I also have combination skin. I usually prefer all natural products...i.e for the time being I've been exfoliating with baking soda and cleansing with witch hazel, and moisturizing with avocado oil if that gives you all an idea.

Thanks for any tips you can offer?

  • Their satin hands and satin lips kits are great. I also like their eye makeup remover and their microdermabrasion set. But you can't go wrong with the satin collections.

  • The only tip I can offer is stay away from the Timewise line, the most over marketed line of crap I have encountered.  Anything with fragrance is not really skin care.  They have a few good pieces though, check out reviews here for Mary Kay prods.

  • Their eyeshadow primer is good.  I've been using it for a few years and it works really well.
    PitaPata Dog tickers
  • I love MK's mineral powder. I also think they have great eyeshadow. On my list to try is their makeup remover too.
    Cricket's Cadence

I agree on the satin lips. I've never liked any of the makeup I've tried (admittedly I've not tried much after I didn't like the eyeshadow and mascara). The satin lips is great though. It makes your lips feel so great.

I'm kind of "meh" on the satin hands. It's kind of just like thick hand lotion that has no smell to it. I only got some b/c I won a MK giftcard once, but I won't reorder it.

  • I think their lip gloss tastes like cream cheese icing, which I quite like.
  • Love the eye primer, eye makeup remover, extra emoillent night cream (use on my feet), satin hands exfoliator (great gift for men too), lipsticks are fairly long wearing.  I have been fairly happy with the cosmetics and some fragrances.  The skincare went downhill.
