I have a half marathon on Sunday. I feel great, but I haven't really done what I was supposed to do this week as far as a taper week goes. Work has been NUTS this week. I had 20 teachers come in my room to watch me teach a lesson that I spent quite a bit of time preparing, i've been working on report cards all week, I had a sub I had to prepare for on Tuesday, a training after school on Thursday for 2.5 hours. I have just been overwhelmed this week with work, not to mention acutual prep and teaching time.
I did however, bike 90 minutes on Sunday, took monday off, did a short 3.5 mile tempo run at the track, did nothing on Wednesday, nothing on thursday. I'm finishing up report cards and should be done withing the next 90 minutes or so and have time to run an easy 3 miles. I was also planning on a very short 2-3 miles tomorrow.
I'm fine... right?
Re: ease my mind a little peeps!
You would be fine even if you didn't do anything all week. You worked hard. If I were you, I'd skip the run tomorrow. I like to go into a race with super fresh legs -- I usually take two days off running just before.
Good luck!
