SO Poll: BEST race shirt?

What was the best race shirt/jacket/sweatshirt you've ever received?  Was it cool because of the material/color/style or more for sentimental reasons? PIP, if possible.

Sadly, my race shirts have all been just-ok.  I suppose my favorite is the ep5K, mostly because I was so proud to have ran in a race.  It was my 2nd 5K but the first time I didn't walk the whole thing. No PIP of the shirt, but it was similar in design to the medal (pic from random blog - thanks, Google!) on a white, cotton shirt.

  • I always love a long sleeve wicking tee..my favorite one has contrast stitching, its so pretty lol My other favorite shirt, also wicking short sleeves though, is from a stupid, awful 5k i ran as a last minute decision. The fabric is comfy, the fit is perfec,t and theres a map with the course on the shirt. Im doing the race next year just for the shirt. And hopefully ill run better this year lol

I like that idea.  Fun!  I've never seen that before.

  • I love the shirts from the GW Parkway Classic race - I think they're New Balance.  They're good quality short sleeve tech shirts, v-neck and fit well.  I also love the Army 10 Miler shirt upgrade which is a long sleeve tech shirt.
  • I enjoy the long sleeve tech t-shirt.

fact: I may run the parks half marathon just to get another shirt b/c I like it so much.

  • My favorite race shirt thus far is probably the one from my first race-a local Turkey Trot 5 miler on Thanksgiving 2006.  The funny thing is that it's not a tech shirt...its a sweatshirt.  A fabulous, lightweight, comfy as hell sweatshirt that I would live in all the time if I was allowed ;)  This particular race is becoming known for, ahem, less attractively colored shirts (since switching from sweatshirts to tech shirts in 2008, the last three races have featured a funny shade of red, bright construction cone orange, and bright yellow shirts respectively) so you will have to pry this sweatshirt out of my cold dead hands.

Lately all my race Ts are long sleeve tech shirts, except the RnR shirt.  Maybe it's because I run in the PNW and it's long sleeve weather 9 months of the year! My favorite - I guess it is since I wear it most - is from the Get Your Rear in Gear 5K that I ran toward the end of chemo. It's a long sleeve white, Brooks tech shirt. The race was to benefit colon cancer research and was teeny tiny and I was slllooooowww.  But I did it :)  Tomorrow's 10K is also for colon cancer research and hopefully I'll have a better performance!

  • I have two favs:

Philly marathon 2010 - Long sleeve, grey, and good material.

Philly women's tri 2010 - Short sleeve, black with pink lettering, also good material

Did you see the ones for tomorrow??? FUGLY!! And orange!! 10k gets a cotton T , half gets a tech T.
  • Well, I am currently wearing my 2012 Shamrock Marathon finishers wicking sweatshirt. Not super great quality but certainly has lots of good memories. Kinda excited about my Shamrock finishers hat too. It's light and has a terry cloth band on the inside. I think my favorite was a SS wicking shirt from the 2009 Amica Newport Half Marathon. That race was in a nor'easter. I wear it like a badge of honor.

I like that one too.  DH hates it, though :)

  • The Bayshore Marathon in Traverse City, MI does great shirts. No overly-sponsored back, nice tech fabrics, well-known name like Brooks making them. Last year's blue is much prettier in person. :)

WHAT??? I get tons of complements on this shirt; your DH is crazyStick out tongue

  • Our local track club doesn't do shirts - they do socks. Nice, comfy, high-tech socks. I love my race socks and I use them every few days. Unlike the tshirts that sometimes never get worn. I can't wait for my next pair!

That's pretty cool!  I have some really crappy shirts in my drawer.

  • am I the only weird one in that I hate it when races give tech t/s?  I'm so picky about my running shirts and so far, none of the races I've done have good s/s shirts that I'd run in again.

I've done two l/s tech t-s that I like, but it's only because it's not cold enough here to run in l/s that often.

  • The Disney Tinkerbell Half had a nice long sleeve tech shirt in white.  I liked that - all of my other tech shirts are black or blue.

I also like the one from a local 15K, the Lakefront Discovery Run.  It has a Frankenstein dressed like John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever on it.  It is so ridiculous that I like it.

  • I'm loving my under armour Baltimore Half tee. It's so comfy and cute. I don't know that orange is a great color for me, especially since I get beet red when I run, but I don't have to look at myself when I run :) I love my Boston shirt for sentimental reasons, but it still has the tags on. I had a huge old belly by the time it was cool enough to wear it, and have been rocking short sleeves with the mild winter.

This is the logo for the I run colorado 5k..I think the shirt is blue.

  • This is one of the few race shirts I wear on a regular basis. I'm a little partial since my DH designed it.

  • My favorite non-dri fit shirt is from the Poland Spring Marathon Kick off in 2010.  It is the softest cotton t-shirt I have.  I wear it on weekends when I'm just running errands or when I get home from work and want to wear something comfy.

There's a shirt that I wish I had bought, but wrongly thought I could buy it after the race, so I didn't get it.  H and I did the inaugural Disney Wine & Dine Half Relay and they had a shirt that said "Wine & Dine Half Marathon - I ran SOME of it" (but in a cuter way).  I was so mad when they told me at the finish party that they had sold out!

  • I did a Get Lucky 7k last weekend and we got green sweatshirts that say "Get lucky" on them. LOL love it!

No pic, my size was out and it is being sent in the mail. I got to pick out a free t-shirt as well though, for the inconvenience! Double love!
