lurker with a question

http://www.zappos.com/merrell-barefoot-lithe-glove-brindle#additionalReviews

are the "barefoot" shoes comfortable? I just need them for walking daily 1 to 1.5 miles.

I have never tried them. I like them becuase they are low lying and I have 9.5 shoes that look huge in a traditional padded gym shoe. Anyone have any feedback?

TIA

Re: lurker with a question

  • I have a pair of New Balance Minimus, a low profile shoe like the one you linked.  They aren't comfortable in terms of, it doesn't feel like my feet are floating on clouds when I put them on, but I do wear them on a daily basis instead of flip flops.  Hope that helps a bit.

But do you feel everything on the ground. like stones etc.

  • I have a similar pair of Merrells (the Trail Glove, I think). Love them. I don't wear them all year because they're not enough coverage for winter in WI, but when I do wear them I walk 3+ miles a day in them (I walk to work and to the gym and stuff).

    Very comfortable.

You do feel the ground, but it's not painful like if you were actually barefoot.

I love them because I like to be barefoot and hate the feel of heavy shoes. They are definitely not cushy at all.

I've never stepped on anything and gone "ouch!" It feels similar to wearing a pair of Teva flip flops or cheap canvas shoes from Target
