Need some help for acne !
Hi ladies... I'm coming here from the bump. I stopped bcp in october and since then I've had terrible acne on my back and some on my face. I was pg and had a mc this week:( since then it's gotten so much worse...probably from the stress of the situation. I dont know where to begin because nothing seems to be clearing it up. I thought of proactive and also considered Mario badescu produts. Advice would be greatly appreciated for those of you who have suffered with acne. thanks

Re: Need some help for acne !
First, I am sorry for your loss.
I have had a few myself along with fertility meds. They really do mess up your skin. I had these recs from my derm and esitician. (sp) I would personally skip all that commerical product crap and go straight to your derm. I would though check out Suki. It rocks.
Make sure to watch your face every night. I know this is common sense but when you are/have experienced a miscarriage, its so shocking and horrible that I personally would forget some nights...or just did not care.
Change your pillow case and sheets. Especially your pillow case. every other day.
Try to go without makeup when you can so that your skin can breathe. Use natural products like witch hazel for toning. My skin really did change after fertility treatments and losses. I feel that I am much more sensitive to everythjing and anything that come near my face.
Make sure your makeup is oil free and cosmegenic (sp) free.
Check out the brand SUKI..they are all natural and I swear by them. they have made my acne scars slowly fade. They are $$$ but worth it, IMHO.
That Mario stuff (which I have tried) has sulfur in it. It irritated my skin b/c it dried it out so much that I ended up with more pimples b/c my skin was trying to replinish its moisture. Sacylic acid does that to me too now. These are the things that I never would have thougth twice about before the losses.
Take care of yourself. No one can tell you how to grieve but do and feel what you want. It will get better with time. GL!
So sorry for your loss.
I have never had a MC, but I did go off BC after being on it for 10 years....and my skin went bonkers. Honestly, even with derm Rx treatments, it's never been as good as it was on BC. It did calm down about 75%, I'd say, though even that took well over a year.
I would highly recommend the Clinique 3-step either for sensitive or acne prone skin. Also, try some sort of enzyme cream to help exfoliate and decongest pores. I use pevonia's enzymo-sphiredes and swear by it.

I am having the exact same issue. My skin was awful until I went on BC and now that I am off it has flared up again and I am almost 40, I figured I would be over this at my age
Proactiv really does work but there is a knockoff brand called Acne Free that works just as well, I get mine at Walgreens. Its cheaper and you don't have to commit to any autoshipments.
That has worked well for my face but I am still having issues with my back. I just got the Proactiv body wash at a kiosk in the mall. They just came out with it. Its only been a few days but it I can already see improvement.
