And now recommend me your hydration belt
I'm thinking I'll need one so that I don't actually have to stop at water stations.
Can you tell I'm nervous for this 15k?? It's my longest race yet, and I did a good deal of fund raising, so the stakes feel high!

Re: And now recommend me your hydration belt
It's happened to me twice now. The first time wasn't such a big deal but this time was, because it was very hot and humid. I was trying to save my water bottles on my belt for in between water stations because they were sparse to begin with, but this time it was bad. Table after table had zero water available. Hundreds, maybe a thousand or so people didn't finish, or stepped down to the half because it sucked out.
I have this same one and love it. Trail Mix
I have this one:

I found it at TJ Maxx last weekend for $14.99. I love it. I wear it so that the water bottle's on my backside and I don't even feel like I'm wearing anything at all.
Where's your 15k?

Yikes! I've never had a race run out of water either, I would be livid!
I have an Amphibipod pouch that I love, I bought two clip-on water bottles to use with it. I honestly don't use the bottles much because I hate the extra weight and the water sloshing around. The belt itself is really comfortable, though! And they make a bunch of styles, this is what I have:

I have also been on a course that couldn't keep the water coming fast enough - it sucks
This is the fuel belt I have:

I wouldn't recommend it only because it doesn't hold anything really besides water. I've had gu's fall out of the pocket on the front.
The one good thing, though, is for extra long races (marathon) I was able to put my gu in one of the bottles since it's a "nutrition" flask, the spout is a bit wider. As long as you're okay with taking the same flavor gu
I have the classic 4-bottle Fuelbelt.
It does not slow me down (BQed with it). If anything, the psychological benefit of having water available when I want it, which is exactly how I train, makes me run faster. I haven't experienced races that run out of water, but I have experienced races that I didn't think had enough water stops. I will never run a race in warm weather without it.
