The weekend (long) workout post
Hi Ladies! Happy Weekend! Hopefully it's not raining and crappy where you are!
What was your (long) workout this weekend?
What was the weather like and what did you wear?
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being "Make it stop" and 5 being "I want to do this forever!", how would you rate your workout?
Did you see/do anything interesting?
Bonus question: What is the toughest/craziest thing you've done (and accomplished!) in your weekend workouts? Examples- Tough hill that you conquered, virgin mileage, number of reps/high weight, etc.
Re: The weekend (long) workout post
What was the weather like and what did you wear? upper 50s/low 60s with some 20 mph winds and overcast; capris and a long-sleeve shirt which I quickly realized I overdressed for when I wasn't running into the wind
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being "Make it stop" and 5 being "I want to do this forever!", how would you rate your workout? 5! I really could've kept going; I'm really enjoying distance
Did you see/do anything interesting? Passing all the other runners and getting waves, smiles, and hi's from. It's such a great motivator. I even passed a guy who said he had the same shirt (it was from a Winter Run I did this year)
Bonus question: What is the toughest/craziest thing you've done (and accomplished!) in your weekend workouts? Examples- Tough hill that you conquered, virgin mileage, number of reps/high weight, etc. Yesterday I made myself go up the hill I have been avoiding and surprisingly it wasn't bad!
Hi Ladies! Happy Weekend! Hopefully it's not raining and crappy where you are! It's kinda crappy, but I can't complain after the week we just had. I wore flip-flops twice!
What was your (long) workout this weekend? 8.5 mile run
What was the weather like and what did you wear? Perfect. Around 50, mostly sunny, and breezy. Wore a skirt and SS t-shirt.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being "Make it stop" and 5 being "I want to do this forever!", how would you rate your workout? 4.75. Nice and pleasant. Easy pace. I actually did think that I wanted to do that forever.
Did you see/do anything interesting? Ran into downtown Providence, probably for the last time
Bonus question: What is the toughest/craziest thing you've done (and accomplished!) in your weekend workouts? Examples- Tough hill that you conquered, virgin mileage, number of reps/high weight, etc. 18 miles in a snowstorm. Glad I only had to do that once.Running on the Rhode
I hate you very much
What was your (long) workout this weekend? Running for an hour
What was the weather like and what did you wear? 65 and 100% humidity, and then it attempted to rain, and kind of failed. I wore Nike tempo shorts, my trusty Champion sportsbra, a Champion racerback tank top, and a visor. I could have run naked and it still would have been sticky and gross.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being "Make it stop" and 5 being "I want to do this forever!", how would you rate your workout? 4. I ran for an hour, which is always good on any given day. But it was gross. And I am still paying the price from last weekend's half when I was dehydrated and chafing and other miserableness.
Did you see/do anything interesting? I usually don't run through my 'hood for longer runs, because it's kind of small and familiarity breeds contempt, so I save it for the spring/summer when it's nicer out and I'm running shorter distances. I counted For Sale signs on the townhouses, saw three adorable cats and a beagle, and all of the trees are in bloom, which is gorgeous!
Bonus question: What is the toughest/craziest thing you've done (and accomplished!) in your weekend workouts? Examples- Tough hill that you conquered, virgin mileage, number of reps/high weight, etc. There is this hill on my neighborhood run...it's probably 200m and it goes up probably 80-100ft. It's intimidating. I always feel so accomplished when I run UP it and not careen down it. It was almost movie-like when I did it yesterday, just as the skies opened up I sprinted up the hill, with people watching me from their cars/yards.What was your (long) workout this weekend? 10 mile race
What was the weather like and what did you wear? cloudy, high 40's/low 50's, showers in the forecast, but not a drop of rain fell. wore capris and a l/s shirt w/ a tank underneath, but i kept the l/s on for the whole race - it was a little chilly!
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being "Make it stop" and 5 being "I want to do this forever!", how would you rate your workout? 2.5, never really found my groove
i had 1:30 in mind (w/ 1:25-1:28 being completely doable!) and i missed it by 35 seconds - the worst part is, i wasn't working that hard for a race, but i was a head case so i never picked up the pace. definitely didn't leave it all out there this time!
Did you see/do anything interesting? saw 2 out of 3 of my kids and my 3 nieces at mile 5!
Bonus question: What is the toughest/craziest thing you've done (and accomplished!) in your weekend workouts? Examples- Tough hill that you conquered, virgin mileage, number of reps/high weight, etc. hmm, let me get back to you)
What was the weather like and what did you wear? clear skies, high 50s with a slight breeze. Perfect weather! I wore ON capri pants, a tank top, light running jacket, and new saucony triumph shoes (still not sure if i like them. My feet fell asleep around mile 3. Anyone know what causes that?)
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being "Make it stop" and 5 being "I want to do this forever!", how would you rate your workout? 3. The first 1.5 was very challenging. after that I found my groove and it was better but my legs were tired and feet hurt
.
Did you see/do anything interesting? Got chased by a dog, which made my dog very excited. And we were running on a fairly busy street and the pup was very weary of every. single. mailbox.
Bonus question: What is the toughest/craziest thing you've done (and accomplished!) in your weekend workouts? Examples- Tough hill that you conquered, virgin mileage, number of reps/high weight, etc. Learning to run by myself. I don't need the external motivation of my husband to get a good workout it. I very much used him as a crutch when I started working out again. But now I prefer to run alone. Also upping my distance. 4 weeks till my 5 mile race and one mile to add. I can totally do this!!!What was your (long) workout this weekend? 3.4 miles at a comfortable pace, with some walk breaks.
What was the weather like and what did you wear? 74* blue skies and sunny! Beautiful day. I wore my trusty ON capris and a new TJMaxx find - a Nike drifit T that says "I run to be free," Saucony progrid guide 5s in vizipro pink, and my favorite sweatyband, in sparkly black.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being "Make it stop" and 5 being "I want to do this forever!", how would you rate your workout? 3.75 - it was my longest workout to date, and I felt satisfied with my endurance, if not excited about my pace. Also developed a bit of a sunburn, despite running as much of the route as I could in the shade. Did you see/do anything interesting? I ran a different part of my 'hood than usual, and I saw a pergola like I want to build over our patio. I took DH back there later (we were in separate cars coming home from dinner after he got off work), and an assistant principal at my campus lives on that road and was smoking in his driveway, staring at us. It's a dirty little secret that he smokes, so I tried to act like I didn't see him. Bonus question: What is the toughest/craziest thing you've done (and accomplished!) in your weekend workouts? This was virgin mileage for me, but I think running my first who.e 5k in February was my biggest accomplishment this far. What was your (long) workout this weekend?
-10 miles, straight uphill
What was the weather like and what did you wear?
- low 50's but very clear and felt warm. I wore Lulu shorts and my new running club shirt
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being "Make it stop" and 5 being "I want to do this forever!", how would you rate your workout?
- Right at the end- a 5, I felt pretty awesome and could have easily done several more miles; but 20 minutes later, when my muscles started to cool down, I felt like a 3, my calves are still recovering and were screaming at me
Did you see/do anything interesting?
- Finally got a shirt to match my running club, and it was just overall beautiful
Bonus question: What is the toughest/craziest thing you've done (and accomplished!) in your weekend workouts? Examples- Tough hill that you conquered, virgin mileage, number of reps/high weight, etc.
- I ran the last 5 miles by myself and challenged myself to pass everyone I saw on the way back, and mostly beat them! (not that I'm competitive...)
What was your (long) workout this weekend? 3.3 mile run with 1 mile walk. Not far but still happy to be running at almost full term!
What was the weather like and what did you wear? Beautiful weather outside but I stuck to the treadmill so that I would be close to the bathroom. Too many pee and trots breaks needed lately.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being "Make it stop" and 5 being "I want to do this forever!", how would you rate your workout? I would have to say a 4. It was slow but it felt pretty good
Did you see/do anything interesting? Nothing too interesting in my basement. I watch some 'Flip this House' and some 'Friends'
Bonus question: What is the toughest/craziest thing you've done (and accomplished!) in your weekend workouts? Examples- Tough hill that you conquered, virgin mileage, number of reps/high weight, etc. Back before I got pregnant, starting up interval training/speedwork in the middle of summer
What was your (long) workout this weekend? Dallas Rock & Roll half marathon!
What was the weather like and what did you wear? It was very warm! Almost 70 when we started and it got up to almost 80. I wore Xersion shorts, C9 sports bra and t-shirt, Feetures socks, Brooks Glycerin 8's and a lululemon headband.
On a scale from 1-5, 1 being "Make it stop" and 5 being "I want to do this forever!", how would you rate your workout? A 3, it was not a great race for me. My legs felt good but I felt "off" from the beginning. My pace was off, my breathing was irregular (I think from sinus congestion) and then I started getting really hot. I finished in 2:10:30. Not my worst time, but not my best time either.
Did you see/do anything interesting? Lots of funny signs! A soldier in full fatigues and pack, his partner was carrying a huge Wounded Warrior flag. (I seriously teared up, I've done one of their races before and it's really inspiring.) A running Elvis. And of course the bands.
Bonus question: What is the toughest/craziest thing you've done (and accomplished!) in your weekend workouts? Examples- Tough hill that you conquered, virgin mileage, number of reps/high weight, etc. Running a half marathon in the freezing rain (Dallas White Rock 2011). I've never been so cold in my life!
