Cherry Wood Floor Help

Our new kitchen has cherry floor. How do we wash/clean it?

I've been doing a bit of research and I've learned that we should not have the floor wet, but clean it with something damp. a 1:10 vinegar:water solution seems to be popular.

How do you guys clean your wooden floor? Any suggestions?

The sellers didn't really leave the floor clean, we had to sweep it and there are some sticky spots that I need to remove, but I want to do it after knowing what exactly we are supposed to do.

Re: Cherry Wood Floor Help

  • Do NOT use steam - ever  on real wood.

Damp mop only. Depending on the finish, vinegar/water  is good or bad. It can dull some finishes.

To get the sticky spots, I would do them by hand with water & rag .  Wring  it out well and then rub the spots.  Rinse and repeat.

General cleaning - sweep and damp mop.

  • This is what I do... you may want to be alone because it looks weird.  haha

Run a clean bath towel through the rinse and spin cycle on your washing machine.  Place the damp towel on your wood floor.  Put a foot at each end of the towel and walk, legs spread wide apart, and walk all over the area you want cleaned.

Occasionally, I use the vinegar and water solution listed above.

  • I clean our wood floors with a water/vinegar solution and this mop. It's nice because the microfiber pads are washable and reusable, and the vinegar/water solution is really cheap. More environmentally friendly and budget friendly than something like a swiffer mop, but just as easy to use.

I always use a dry mop on the floor first, mostly because we have a dog and I think the end result is better when the dog hair gets picked up first. People always comment on how beautiful and shiny our floors are when they come over.

  • I wet a microfiber cloth, wring it out so it's just barely damp, then attach it to my Swiffer mop -- it's almost the perfect size.  When it gets too dirty, I use a second cloth.

For really bad spots, I get down on my hands and knees and scrub away with a damp microfiber cloth.

  • Im in the minority but I was our cherry wood floors with a damp warm mop and Murphys- they come out fantastic- Im always getting compliments on how shiny they are.

  • We also have hardwoods that are Cherry. I would not recommend using anything on them, except warm water. First I dry swiffer them and then take an old fashioned warm rag and clean them. Also, do not do it too often. Our floor people told us once every two week (I do mine once a week because I can't stand seeing the smudges and they still look brand new).

No, because the Lakers admiral accept a history of authoritative astute abstract picks and trades, abrogation the aggregation in position to balance bound from setbacks.

Look at the Clippers? abstract history: In 1981, they drafted Tom Chambers, who went on to accept a solid career ? with Seattle and Phoenix. Afterwards he averaged 17.4 credibility for the Clippers, they traded him to the SuperSonics for James Donaldson, Greg Kelser and Mark Radford. To be fair, the Clippers did abstract a approaching Hall of Famer in 1981: Tony Gwynn, who is in the Baseball Hall of Fame. In 1983, the Clippers called Byron Scott, again traded him to the Lakers. In 1984, they called Lancaster Gordon with the eighth all-embracing aces of the draft. Lancaster Gordon? Nike jordans shoes sales Meanwhile, eight picks later, the Utah Jazz called John Stockton. (By the way, that year the Lakers called A.C. Green with the 23rd pick.)

So, no, there is no Clippers Curse.
