Did OPI Bubble Bath change its formula?

Last week I bought my go to Spring neutral color "bubble bath".  I put it on and the color looked completely different to me.  It was almost a peachy color.  It was pretty, but it wasn't the same as I remember.  I looked online and found a few websites that say the formula may have been changed.  I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue.  Anyone have any suggestions of polishes like "bubble bath"? It's what I have worn for years.

I found this picture and it's exactly what I am talking about.  The old "bubble bath" was more pink/white and the more peachy color is what I have now.  It's a pretty color, but doesn't look as good with my skin tone.

Re: Did OPI Bubble Bath change its formula?

  • no clue, but it reminds me of Essies Angel Food cake...I love that polish.
  • I love(d) that colour. I don't like the new one as much. I didn't even know about this.

Essie Fiji is one of my favourites and similar to Bubble Bath.

  • I don't know anything about a change in Bubble Bath, but if you like the more pinky shade try using Sweetheart.

I don't have any shade recommendations, but WOW, that is a huge formula/shade change!  WTF, OPI?

  • I've noticed it the last couple of years, I've asked about it and the sales associates just shrug their shoulders.  I've seen the two different shades in the same display - weird.

  • I don't have experience with those colors but I'm wearing OPI Sweet heart and it looks a lot like the original color you want
  • Wow, that's a huge change. I'm surprised that they'd alter such a popular color so much.

  • I wonder if it's "real" OPI or a knock off product.

I've never bought Bubble Bath, but have gotten it as part of a pedi fairly often. It did vary a bit in terms of color and opacity. I always put it down to thinning done by the salons.

  • Bubble Bath is my standard nail color that I wear probably 60% of the time.  I get the OPI axxium.  The last two times I've had it done at the same nail salon I always go to, the color has been ridiculously sheer.  The last time the woman did three coats, and it still looks nothing like in your picture and is extremely light in color.  I'm going to start getting CND Romantique because it is a nice pink color, more like what Bubble Bath at my salon used to be.
