Stubborn gray hair?
I don't have a ton of gray hair, but I have enough that it's definitely noticeable and I try to keep it covered. The challenge I have is that my gray hair won't take much color and doesn't hold onto it for very long. Are there certain products that are specifically designed for this issue? I have to DIY these days, but would love a good recommendation, hopefully one that won't fry my hair too badly.... TIA!

I have a few noticeable strands that happen to be right in my part. I'd love to change my part but I have a widow's peak and a cowlick that make changing it not worth it. Strangely I don't have gray hair any where else (yet!!!). I've tried some of the recent foam dyes, temp dyes, and Garnier brands and they barely colored the grays and faded fast. I really liked the color of a Revlon Colorsilk and decided to give it a go since the more expensive ones hadn't done much for me. It worked really well and it's still holding up after a month. So my rec is for a cheapie box of Colorsilk.
This woorks good enough for me. I put it on---but leave for half an hour, then take a shower. It lasts a good three to four weeks for me.

Also, one box lasts for three or four applications for me. You don't have to mix the whole thing at once.
Coming out or lurking...
Ooops, got kicked out. Try Ardell's Gray Magic from Sally's (or you can get it online). You mix you color and then add a little packet. I've used it for the 2nd time this last weekend and it seems to cover the gray better. Also, try a sulfate free shampoo if you aren't already using one.
