I hate the Hunger Games

They have robbed me of precious sleep. I couldn't put the books down. So tired.

  • so our warnings were accurate? :)

  • I just started it yesterday when I got bored with the other book I was reading.  I'm already half-way through and plotting how to escape from the office for a while to read some more.
  • I finished the books last night and I'm sad it's over, I want to keep reading.
  • I was sad it was over too. There's so much story left to tell!
  • I convinced my husband to read the first one and he is hooked. He never reads books but he even took my Nook to read on his lunch hour lol. He also stayed up way to late last night reading. I think it is cute because it is so out of character for him.
  • I don't like 99% of dystopian fiction I've read.  Are these good enough that I should read them anyway?
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • The reason you guys are sad it's over is because the ending sucks. I think I would have been happier if the whole thing ended after the first book.

I'm the same, which is why I never read them before now.

I felt the same way both of you do and I loved them. Definitely give them a shot.

I would say I 100% do not like dystopian fiction or anything of that nature. But I loved these books. They are written in an appealing way to the masses.

  • OK, you dystopian-adverse people are CRAY CRAY to me. That's all I effing read!!! I can't imagine...

Yes, because these are only dystopian in the set up for what's happening.  Society has been reestablished.  It's not the kind where the struggling band of survivors are dirty and wearing rags walking miles to find a mutant rabbit to cook over a fire started with one of the last few flicks of the last lighter they have.
