NSOR: Antidepressant question
I went to my doctor to inquire about getting antidepressant/anxiety medication. She prescribed one medication (the name escapes me right now), but I called today because it's making me very nauseous, giving me headaches, and (sorry TMI) making me very constipated. She prescribed Zoloft instead. I'm a little hesitant to stop this other medication and take a new one already without first seeing if the first one will work. Shouldn't I wait and see if my body adjusts to the medication?
Re: NSOR: Antidepressant question
I'd call back and ask to speak to her.
I went on Wellbutrin and was so nauseous fo the first 2 weeks that I had to order smoothies just to eat. It went away after 2 weeks.
Honestly, I got terrible vertigo from Zoloft so I wouldn't recommend it. Everyone has different reactions though.
This is such a subjective question. I have had side effects fade over time with SSRIs, but that doesn't necessarily mean you will react in the same way.
Honestly, a lot of them have the same side effects. But some are worse than others for different people.
And wow, my answer was not helpful at all. But, I do feel your pain about the depression/anxiety stuff.
Wanted to add that if you take it later in the day, often you can sleep through the side effects.
Also, I'm glad you talked to your doctor. Hopefully you'll feel better soon. ((hugs))
