So I am thinking about doing this half in June but was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on it. I used to live there and still have family there so it would be an excuse for a mini vacation!!
Has anyone done it...liked it/ didn't like it? The elevation chart makes it look pretty flat for the most part which is a huge plus!!
The transportation/parking looks like it could be a bit hectic. All of the 1/2s I've done have started/finished within a few blocks of each other so just curious on how spectator friendly this race is. I wouldn't need to worry about hotel since I have family in the area so that's one less concern.
Any other info and thoughts would be appreciated!! Thanks!!
Re: RnR San Diego
I did the half last year and enjoyed the race. I styaed with friends who lived within walking distance of the starting line, and then we took our time taking public transit back. The course is nice and flat, and my DH/friends didn't mind waiting around in the finish area as there's food/music and room to sit down.
For people doing the full, it's pretty easy for specatators to walk around and see the runners at various points in the last few miles since the course loops-around.
I think you'd enjoy it. It made for a nice racecation wekeend.
