Let's help Zane find some interview clothes...
Re: Let's help Zane find some interview clothes...
You strike me as a pants girl. I don't see you in skirts/dresses.
I think these from Target are a nice, inexpensive option. They come in black, navy, khaki, and grey.

And I think this top would be nice and cool under a jacket. It comes in several colors. http://www.target.com/p/Merona-Womens-Ruffled-Smocked-Top-Assorted-Colors/-/A-13941868
This blazer would look adorable with the above pieces. if you feel like the lining is too much, you could just roll the sleeves down.

Any black pump would work with this outfit, but I also like the idea of adding a pop of color with the shoe. It doesn't have to be super bright.

I went with Target because I figure everyone has access to Target. But, if you post what other stores you have access too, I'll come up with some ideas from there as well when I get back from lunch.
Macy's is where I'm going today. I know there's a Nordstrom's about 25mins away that I can go to on Wed. if need be. I don't really know what other stores to consider, but, don't really have a no list either.
Even if you piece together something from a store I don't have access to, I can at least use it as a guide and find something similar.
Ames, this is way cute. I like the shirt too, especially in the purple color. Our mall with the Macy's also has a Target, so I can check them out to. Target dress pants never seem to fit me right, but I've never had a problem with their tops.
Ok I didnt like anything online at NY&Co.
I like this blouse at Target:

You could always get the jacket and pants that Ames mentioned and a few blouses for interviews. The white would look good if you rolled up the sleeves but if you have them down this one would look nice.
Or this:

I'd just wear black pumps with those tops. The black and white you could get away with a red shoe.
Honestly, I would just get a black jacket and black pants and then get a nice colored blouse and you'll be fine. I like a little embellishment on mine (ruffles) but you wouldnt have to do that
This is kind of along the lines of what I was thinking too. i think a black pant suit always looks clean and professional, and then you can add your own flair with your shirt, shoes, and jewelry.
I hear you on the Target pants. I have trouble with the fit there too. I am sure you could find a simliar option at Macy's though! That's a good store to hit up.
Yeah, same with if your jacket and yoru pants are different brands.
These are from macy's and I think they'd be a good option. Unfortunately, they don't have a matching jacket. All of the jackets from Macy's website were in the "ouch, that's above my budget" range.

Actually, I found this one under Juniors, and I think it could be cute. Thoughts? (In the PIP it looks gray but it's actually b&w striped.

And here's a solid black one from Junior's:

Thanks for all your help you guys! I'll PIP what I end up with, but at least now I feel good about what to look for.
