alone in Brisbane tomorrow...

Hey Aussie gals - I feel like I actually "get" you all a lot better now (probably not but I feel like I understand different things you talk about a bit more) that I've spent a week in Sydney! I'm in Brisbane tomorrow all day by myself while DH is gone for the day/night on business. We're going to go to the Gold Coast this afternoon so he can see it, but if you have any suggestions of things to do tomorrow let me know! I read something about Hinsland (spelling might be wrong) that sounded really cool, but the front desk person said it would be to far away. I thought I better jump on here for some advice from the real experts! ;)

Re: alone in Brisbane tomorrow...

  • I can only think of two things that might match what you wrote- the Hinze Dam or the Hinterland both of which are on the Gold Coast.

Other things to do would be going to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, visit the Art museum then grab some lunch/dinner by the river.

  • The hinterland is right behind the gold coast. Most people like Mt. Tambourine in the Hinterland. It's a little shops and a winery.

For tomorrow by yourself I would suggest (if you are in the CBD or downtown) going to SouthBank. There is man made beach, cafes, restaurants, a cinema and plenty of green space to lounge around in and people watch. Catch the CityCat or water taxi to get there. I hope you have fun. If we weren't a one car family I would suggest a GTG.

  • South bank is nice and available on public transportation.

I like Roma Parklands as well, but South Bank would be a good way to spend part of a day and near the museums, cafes etc etc.

A ferry ride on the river is fun as well.

    Enjoy!
