Wooooot! Course PR and personal PR! I know it's not fast by some standards but I am so pleased with my 2:12 on this super hilly course. I was in full vomit mode by the last hill at the race finish, I also thought I would cry. I have done 11 half marathons and every singele one has not even been close to my first race time, so I am stoked!!! I can't wait to do another.. on a flat course!!
My friend paced me and I don't yhink I could have done it without her. Like Epphd said it'a well organized course, beautiful day etc. My friend told me I would hate her by the last mile. i told her to stop talking to me at around mile 12. I also had a 10k PR at 58 minutes! There was a giant hill at around mile 11 and had to walk up since my walk was much faster than my run at that point.
I hurt in weird places too. My left quad is very achey. My quads never hurt when I run. My friend told me I did something right if I hurt in weird places!
Nice race Epphd! I kinda hoped I would have ran into you, but I have no idea what you look like. We accidently went into the survivor room when we were looking for a place to sit, but realized this room was not for us!
Re: My Mercer Island Half Recap!
Nicely done! I'm super impressed! I told DH that I was soooooooo glad that I did not register for the half with those hills
And yeah, I should have shot you a picture, but it's so hard to connect at races even with people you've known for years!

Way to go! I did the Mercer Island half back in 2003. Not sure if the course is the same, but is it really cambered? I hurt in places I wasn't expecting and had several people tell me it was because of how cambered that course is. Beautiful though!
