your WTF Monday story-long

Remember last weeks story about the Aunt and the birthday cake at my friends wedding...yeah...shiz got real the day before the wedding!

Backstory: The bride booked hair, pedicure and make up appointments for me and a few other girls. I had KR, so I was hesitant at first. Bride said her grandma would watch him because she was watching another baby (MOH's child-grandma's great granddaughter)-she called her grandma to ask...fine and dandy.

MOH's  2 year old that had a penchant for tearing things apart and hitting...mostly on my son. I again asked the bride if grandma was still on board with watching him as well. She said yes. I thought I better ask because I sure as sh** wouldn't want to watch 2 of them at the same time. I took grandma aside and asked her if it was still okay.

Long story short, it was not okay, grandma kind of freaked out about having enough time to get ready for the wedding. It was totally legit, that's why I asked. So I started trying to make plans to find someone else watch him (like a drop in or something)

The bride was PISSSED. She was so angry that her grandma was backing out. I kept trying to say "its no big deal, seriously, it's fine, we'll find something, seriously, stop freaking out" But then Aunt got involved.

It literally turned into a Jerry Springer match in the middle of the brides living room. Bride against the Aunt. Then MOH steps in and starts berating the bride because she's been acting "sh***y" all day to grandma and she needed to back the f off, etc.

Did I mention that there was about 10 extra people at her house watching it? Ugh.

I found a baby sitter for KR no problem-a person wasnt' going to the salon and said she was fine.

The grandma was SO angry that she told the bride that she wanted "to get the F out of here and never come back." She was STILL saying this stuff to the bride...on her wedding day.

The Aunt (who was STAYING at the brides house mind you) didn't say ONE WORD to the Bride on her wedding day. Not Congratulations, not, you look beautiful, she didn't say one damn word.

Bottom line: Everyone, including the Bride had a complete overreaction but I still feel guilty because I feel like the focus wasn't completely on her for her wedding day.

There's more stories, like the girl I traveled with dancing along to the movie dirty dancing...yeah, it disturbed me, but I'll get to those another day.
