Toys

Owen's going to be TWO in 13 days.  I can't believe it. We're debating between this roller coaster or a play house for his birthday. I think the roller coaster looks pretty fun. Anyone have it? Or other ideas for a boys-boy two year old who loves trains and Super Why and Cars?

Re: Toys

  • I remember seeing a picture recently of the roller coaster but I can't remember where.  It does look fun!  Do you guys have the space inside to have it set up or would it be an outdoor toy?

I feel like a playhouse would probably get longer longevity than the roller coaster.  The roller coaster may be fun but I think the novelty may wear off.  I remember playing with my play house for years.

  • Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking too, but I think both kids would love it so. We'd have to make it an outdoor toy, our old house is too small for something like this. We may get this now and then a playhouse for Maggie's birthday in June. Hmm...decisions.

  • I love that roller coaster! I would get that for Owen now and then the playhouse for Maggie's birthday since they will both enjoy both of them.

How is Owen almost 2? Craziness.

  • Admit it -- you want that roller coaster for yourself.  I would too.
Have you considered buying a bounce house?  A friend of a friend has one, and she said it was the best investment she ever made.

  • I'd be afraid my dogs would pop a bounce house. Not to mention the chickens.......

  • that roller coaster looks awesome!  But, I think Coley is right about the playhouse having more longevity.

I think you have your answer right there.  You HAVE to get the roller coaster!  What is the weight limit on it?  Can I take it for a spin?

  • We got Sean a water table for his bday coming up but are considering a swingset/playset too. You guys got your kids one a while back, yeah? Do they use it? I hesitate since we live around the corner from a nice little playground, but it would be fun to have in the backyard.

  • They have two of those in the indoor play-gym in town and kids from 1 to 6 are always lined up to use it. If you're going to get Maggie the house anyway, totally get the roller coaster.
  • We do have a sand and water table, the kids love it. And I love having a swingset in our own yard. Particularly because it's fenced and one of us can just go out back with them for a quick swing whenever they want.
