Moms with school-aged children...question
I need find time to workout.
I've tried going after DH gets home from work, but its too difficult. He goes to work at 530a, and gets home at 6pm.
The gym daycare opens at 4pm, and DS gets out of school at 245p, and DH suggested after a quick change and after school snack, bring him to the gym.
Do some moms drop off their little one after school, like are they too tired? wdyt?

Re: Moms with school-aged children...question
My DS is in grade one and b/c of my work I"m already dropping him off at before care around 8. I can't pick him up until 4 at the earliest. Besides him needing some rest and down time after school, between 4 and 8 when he goes to bed is the bulk of the time I see him in the whole day. So this plan wouldn't work for me.
I go for a run at 5:25 am b/c my DH leaves early for work and gets home late too. This works the best for me. On days I don't do this, I pop in a dvd after DS goes to bed.
My older one goes to afternoon preschool, so we go to the gym in the AM (daycare is 8-12 and 4-8). Both she and the baby hang out in there while I lift. The, depending on the day, I run with the baby in the stroller while she is in school in the afternoons.
On days where nothing works out, we all go (DH included) to the gym around 6 PM. They are more tired, but they have so much fun in "the little room" that they perk right up when we get there.

I go during the day and take my youngest on days he's not in preschool.
My older kids get out of school at 4 and they would be fine to go for an hour or so. They're 1st and 3rd grade (7 and 9) and they would not be tired at all. Logistically we couldn't do that b/c they have afterschool activities now, but if they were younger it would have been fine.
I own a bunch of DVDs and have some stuff on the DVR.
I've also recently started walking with friends in the neighborhood...we go at 6:15 so we're home before the husbands leave for work/the kids are up and need us to get ready for the day/etc.
My kids couldn't do a gym after school. They're too tired, need too much exercise to work off their energy, and have too much homework to deal with. We'd never get anything done if I tried to add gym time at that point. I need to either be finished before they get home, or exercise after DH is home and/or the kids are in their rooms for the night.
I either run first thing in the morning, or go to the gym for a kickboxing class at 7:30pm (so I miss bed time 1-2 times per week).
DD would probably be fine if I took her right from school to the gym daycare, but I think having that hour off in between would make it difficult. Although as a big kindergartener I know she would have issues going to any kind of "daycare" and most of the kids at our gym daycare are quite a bit younger.
