@ school review question...

Would this review influence your opinion of a school for your kid?

One of the worst private schools you can put your child in!!! Don't waste your time and money. They really don't know what there doing unless your looking for a daycare... most of good teacher's left along time ago. Very unprofessional .

Re: @ school review question...

  • well, no. It's not specific at all. It just sounds like they are mad about something.

  • No, because it's so poorly written.  If it were grammatically and syntactically correct, I might pay a bit more attention.

  • one review no... several reviews like thta I would be concerned.

I would write a scathing review of SD's last school if asked... but it works for some people.

  • Sort of.  It's hard to explain, but I would wonder how much I had in common with the other parents if these "kinds" of parents were sending their kids to this school.  However, if I had visited the school and gotten a good vibe from it, I would entirely discount this "review".

And then there's this, which would concern me. I would wonder if it were a former employee, which would make me happy that they were "former" but would concern me that they'd been, at one time, current.

  • Yeah, it's the "what there doing", "your looking" and "the good teacher's left"...

  • No. I work in a school and parents get mad about all many things that have nothing to do with the quality of the education that is being provided.

I would be more concerned if they listed specific reasons for feeling the way that they do.

  • I would probably ask about teacher turnover when you visit the school, but one bad review wouldn't deter me.  In addition, not all kids thrive in the same environment. With a review that general I wouldn't put too much weight on it.

  • Why do I feel like people aren't noticing that the most troubling part of that review is not that it is a negative review?
  • I'm not sure I could take that review seriously.  If you're complaining about bad teachers, you should use correct grammar, no?

I'm with you on this. It's like we're so used to interpreting poorly written posts we just ignore that and move on.
