VRBO - Carefree Gurantee
We leave on Thursday for Amsterdam and I emailed our apt owner last week to confirm our check-in/out times and I haven't heard back from her (it's be 7 days).
From the rest of my posts, you can probably tell that I'm pretty anal...would you be nervous? I'm considering $39 paying for the VRBO Carefree Gurantee, which I think would cover if we end up having to go to a hotel? WWYD?
(The stay is $600 and I don't have a phone number for the owner)

:S Sorry to hear that I would be SUPER nervous, but I'm like you, pretty anal when it comes to putting a trip together.
Do you have a contract with the owner showing the reservation? Did you already pay a deposit? (if you paid it with a CC you can get it back if anything doesn't work out) I think the same thing applies if you made a bank transfer.
I'm assuming you've already followed up with the first email?
Ha, as luck would have it I emailed a follow up today and she responded.

Ha, I am. Initially when I inquired about the place she was very responsive (within 24hrs) and even once we paid the deposit (we were unsure if it'd be 2 or 4 people staying there) and then nothing. Now she's sent me 3 emails in a matter of 3 hrs. Oh well, I now have a contact number for her and confirmed arrival; so I think it will all work out.

Did you check out the reviews on this rental? Try that contact number and make sure you can reach her. I`d just still be leary that she didn`t respond in a whole week...kwim? LOL, now you got me all involved in your anal-ness, haha.
