Hello again everyone! Does anyone remember me? :P

I posted on here quite a bit back in November and December while I was unemployed...but have been so busy lately that I haven't been on in a while! I'm going to try to find time to post again, so I just thought I'd say hi! *waves*

  • I remember. How are you? Did you find some employment?

  • I DID!!! I love my new job. I got a job as a Copywriter for a local tech company. It's my first full-time job in my actual field (writing) and I absolutely love it! The people I work with are super cool, unpretentious, and like-minded. I've been there almost 4 months, which I can't believe!

  • That is awesome. You have missed some stuff around here. I'm so glad for you!

  • I remember as well. I am so glad you found a job. Any advice for an unemployed chica looking for work?

I have not been on here much myself. I graze on here occasionally.

  • Ooooo what have I missed?! I'd love to be filled in! This was the first Nestie board (of a long string of boards I tried) that really kept my interest, and that I really connected with!

Hmm...I would say DON'T GIVE UP!! I know it sounds overdone, but it's so important. If you're a recent grad or don't have a lot of experience, do a lot of free work in your field (I worked full-time in retail while I wrote for a handful of magazines for free). Get involved in anything even remotely related to your career path, and put every single thing you do on your resume. Also, apply for about 10 jobs a day. At that rate, you'll probably get an interview in 6 months, and a job in about a year (sorry that's negative, that was just my experience!) It's a tough market..you really have to sell yourself with free work, a great resume, and lots of persistence!
