NFBR: Cubicle/Office Decor

Sorry I'm posting here but I'm terrified of the other boards -- they can be so mean! Anyways, my company is moving into its new space in 2 weeks, and I'm pretty excited to get settled after 6 months of temporary office space. Obviously, I know it's annoying and unprofessional to plaster tons of pictures of your DH/family/girls trip to Mexico, but it's acceptable to have a picture from your wedding day and like a photo of the dog, right? The way I look at it, we spend 1/3 of our day at work (or more) at work, so might as well be surrounded by decor you enjoy. I'll have a fairly big cubicle and was wondering what you all like to do to spruce yours up? Put a little table lamp to replace the obnoxious standard fluorescent light? Maybe a small area rug? A little potted plant or flower? Simple yet chic office supplies/accessories? Do tell... and share any websites or places you found stuff. TIA!

Re: NFBR: Cubicle/Office Decor

  • For my cube decor, I have a framed picture of us from our wedding day, a picture of our dog, a calendar and a plant in a pink pot; the rest is pretty office use items

LOL. I'm no help. I have annoying and unprofessional photos of my friends, DH, Puppies, and funny pictures up all over mine. Wink

  • The desk I'm at now I leave pretty bare since it's wide open (it's a small office so I'm pretty much in the receptionist area).

In my old office cube I had up a ton of stuff. I had some really cute paper trays and boxes from Target, pictures, etc. I also found these cool little clips that went in fabric b/c our cubes were like fabric covered metal (they were hideous) and I used that as a bulletin board.

You may want to check The Container Store too - I got an email about a sale a few days ago.

  • I had a potted plant, and a family picture on my computer desktop.  I don't like having a lot of personal items at my desk because they tend to get "borrowed" and not returned, and plus, if I got mad enough to quit and walk out I wanted to just be able to grab my purse and leave.
