I actually think that having a dirty, gritty Marilyn would be a cool way to do that play. I sort of agree with Derek that it's all very happy currently.

I thought it was super lame singing in the bowling alley.

Every week I like the show less and less, but yet I keep watching. I'm not sure what I don't like about it, but I guess I'm invested in the characters.

I actually enjoyed Derek's new take using Karen. It's edgy and he's right about showing Marilyn's other side. I don't understand why they want to replace Ivy. I think she plays the blonde bombshell perfectly. And she has a great voice. I don't particularly like her snottiness, but that's just the role she plays. I feel like the show isn't going anywhere and I'd like to see them pick up the pace.

I agree. I think they've delved into the character's enough and now it's time to pick up the pace with the Marilyn show, make the decisions, get it going and come up with some new issues when the play starts.

Does anyone else get really annoyed at that thing Katharine McPhee does when she's singing, where she kinda puts her arms up as if she has an iota of soul or emotion in her singing?

I think they should have both girls play Marilyn. One as the innocent one, the other as the bombshell sex kitten. One as a brunette, one as a blonde. The sides of Marilyn.

I was a little bored with the episode. It was probably just a filler and a good way to stretch out the storyline? The one song with Karen was TOTALLY different from the other songs Tom and Julia had already put in. The show would be a huge flop if it was just randomly thrown in. I'm not sure what the daughter coming back really did for the story. She was there for a couple of days maybe? Meddled in her parents divorce, and her mother's production.

Next week's episode looks good. I'm not a fan of Ivy, but I'm interested to see where her story line goes in the next few weeks.
