I need motivation...

I am in such a rut lately.  I have been doing WW very successfully for about 2 1/2 years.  I started running in November instead of walking and for about 4 months was very diligent about going to the gym at least 3 times a week.

Then came March.  I don't know what my problem is.  I do pretty well with my food for breakfast and lunch because I pack it at home and bring it to work.  I meal plan each weekend so I have healthy dinners planned out for each night of the week.  I come home and make the dinner and eat it.  So far, so good.  Then, its like I lose control and eat the whole house.   This week has been especially frustrating because I'm now allowing unplanned snacks to become part of my workday as well.  I'm not even hungry!

I don't even know what I'm asking for.  I just don't know what is going on with me.  What happened to my discipline??

Re: I need motivation...

  • You might benefit from reading "Brain over Binge."  I had the exact.same.problem and I was literally ready to seek counseling over it.  I was just so frustrated with my uncontrolled night-time eating completely sabotaging all my hard work and healthy eating the rest of the time.  This book is a life-changer for me.  I seriously cannot recommend it enough.
  • I am the same way :( for me its the mindless snacking during the day.  At night I am fine because I have a night time routine and I stick to it.  Maybe coming up with your own routine will help.  GL!

  • I'd recommend looking up some research on mindful and intuitive eating. That helped me a lot.

Also, are you allowing yourself a treat every now and again when you are eating well? I tend to binge more when I am depriving myself too much. To be honest, WW was terrible for me in that respect. I know that nothing is off limits with WW, but I need a lot of protein (I'm hypoglycemic), and I feel like I went over my points every time I ate the way I need to for my hypoglycemia. So when I stayed within my points, I tended to binge a lot.
