Can a Tailor Line an Unlined Jacket?

I found a blazer that I really like, but it isn't lined and unlined jackets drive me crazy.  I know that's a stupid thing to be bothered by, but it is what it is.  Is lining an unlined jacket something that a tailor can do?

    A good tailor should be able to do this.  I'd take it in for an estimate and to find out how many yards of fabric you need to buy.  Lining fabric is really cheap.  Most of your cost should be the labor from pattern making and sewing.  Just look for someone reputable with good reviews.

    I worked for a tailor last year while in California.  This is definitely something that a good tailor should be capable of but it could get quite costly since this will probably be a time consuming task with all that would be involved.

    You're welcome!  I just thought of something else.  A cheaper option may be to find a fashion design student to do it if you live near a school with a good program.

    DH just bought a very fashion forward suit by Isaia and it's unlined. The salesman at Neimans where he got it told him this is a new trend in designer suits. Funny huh? I think it looks weird but have no idea about what's trendy these days.
