Hey there! I just purchased the Beyond Belief Vita-C+ serum from Sally's. The bottle says to apply a few drops to face/neck- when I pushed down the pump, a lot of liquid came out (unlike the "drop" size that I thought would come out).
How much product do you use for your face/neck?
Do you only use it in the morning, after washing your face but before applying SPF and moisturizer?
Re: ** GoDawgs **
Hi! I don't know what is best, but I use a full pump and slather it on. One pump for me is probably almost the size of a quarter. I'm probably using more than necessary.
I only use it in the morning, but that is because vitamin C isn't supposed to be used at the same time as copper peptides, and I use a copper peptide night cream. If you aren't using another antioxidant product during the day, then definitely use the vitamin C serum during the day as it will protect your skin against pollution/free radicals. I put it on right after washing and before applying any other product. When I skip my copper peptide product at night (which I only do when I'm feeling cheap since it's so expensive) I use the serum at night, too.
I don't think it's overkill because they work in different ways. I have no clue if the Neova is really helping me with preventing wrinkles (although the science is behind it), but there is definitely a noticeable difference in the redness that I typically have in my skin. I have mild rosacea and my skin, especially on my cheeks, often gets red and irritated. In the mornings after I've slept with the Neova on my face, I am always really impressed with how white my skin looks, with no traces of red. Some pinkness does creep back into my skin as the day progresses, but overall I have much less redness and irritation.
I am almost out of my bottle of Neova, and decided to try a Skin Biology product since it's cheaper. I'm already regretting it, as there is a lot of controversy surrounding the Skin Biology products regarding their effectiveness as it's a different type of copper peptide that does not have the backing of scientific studies like the copper peptides used in the Neova. I'll use up the bottle, but think I'm likely to switch back to the Neova when it's gone.
When I first applied the Neova I was actually disappointed because there is no nice smell and no really smooth texture like I would normally expect from an $85 product (which I found cheaper than that on Amazon). It didn't even feel all that hydrating. However, when I woke up the next morning I was blown away, because a horribly red Retin-A reaction that had been on my face for a week was nearly gone.
Got it. So do you use the Neova for wrinkle prevention and to reduce the redness in your face?
Out of curiosity, where do you put your Retin A on your face? Do you put it directly on your nose?
I usually put it on my forehead, the small area b/w the eyebrows, cheeks, chin, and a SMALL amount on my neck and back of hands.
Yeah, that's exactly why I'm using the Neova.
I dot the Retin A all over my face and then rub in, but I stay away from the skin under my eyes as it's supposed to be too thin for Retin A use. When I first started, I was using another pea size amount on my neck and chest, and a little on the back of my hands. I only do that occasionally now because I don't want to have to wear sunscreen on these areas every single day.
