And fie upon cat memes... I almost typed: "I has a skin care question." Or I guess "haz" would have been more appropriate. But anyway,
Last week I got a skin care "system" as my skin has been in dire need of some good regimen lately. I got this set - http://a248.g.akamai.net/7/248/8278/20100225040207/www.sephora.com/assets/dyn/product/P258243/P258243_lg.jpg - and have been using it faithfully, morning and night - except in the morning showers I still will use my Neutrogena face cleanser, then the O.H. toner, then back to my Neutrogena SPF face moisturizer and eye cream. At night I only use the O.H. stuff.
And I'm breaking out.
It's not overwhelming, but I've been using the system since Friday and have had about 3-4 zits, and I usually have maybe 1 per month, maybe.
Is this normal? Or have I struck upon a system my skin isn't liking?
Re: I have a skin care question.
No - a skin care system should improve your skin, not make it worse.
I guess it's too late to return it. Is there a way you could go to the counters and get some samples to try?
my read shelf:
You may be going thru a purge period which does happen sometimes when changing skin care routine. There could also be an interaction problem because you are combining 2 different brands.

Not too late to return it to Sephora, you can still take it back and get store credit. You don't even need your receipt.
I am - a moisturizer comes with the set so I've been using that at night, and in the morning using my Neutrogena SPF moisturizer. Today, however, I'm going to try to use the set's moisturizer instead, so I'm not mixing two systems.
I figure I'll give it another week. I've been stressed more lately than usual too, with listing our house and my annual review and all. ::shrugs::
