I guess women are catty no matter where you go

Most of you probably remember my post about finding a great Mom's group back in October. I went until the end of January when Wyatt got too hyperactive to go anymore, but I stayed friends with most of the girls. We started a facebook group, went on a big girl's night out, and got together a couple times a week when we could for play dates.

The only drama we really had at all was when one girl 'A' started bringing her son to play dates who gets sick often. She brought him once when he was sick, and 4 kids were sick within the week. We figured that we wouldn't say much, considering it was the first time anything like that had happened, but in the months since, it has happened two more times.

This past Friday (I was in the city) A came with her sick son for the 3rd time. By Saturday two kids (belonging to the girls I'm closest to) were in ER with projectile vomiting and diarrhea. Yesterday, the girl who usually hosts the play date 'S' called A and told her that she was no longer welcome when her son was sick.

Apparently A went to a play date today with a bunch of the other girls and complained about how her son is always blamed for making everyone sick. Just a couple hours ago I tried to go onto the facebook group to ask about play dates, and discovered that I've been deleted along with 4 other girls (only 2 of which were involved). I just finished getting the 'whole' story from S, and I'm really disappointed.

I'm kind of pissed off for being deleted considering I've never been part of the drama. Wyatt hasn't caught anything, so I never really had a problem with A personally, we actually got along really well. I'm tempted to ask why I got removed from the group, but I'm not sure I even want to be part of a group that gets dramatic over something so stupid. I'm sure we could have handled this like adults.

If you got this far, you deserve a cookie. I just needed to vent because I feel like something that I really valued has been taken away for no good reason.

  • Oh no that's so not cool, she should have known better than to come with her sick son. That being said that several of you got deleted off of the FB group is just plain rediculous!

  • That stinks! I felt so bad the week I went to my play group thinking Brin was just grumpy because of teething and he ended up puking all over me! Thank goodness no one else got sick. Sometimes it is hard to tell when their really sick or teething have allergies etc. I would like to think she wasn't doing it on purpose but if it happened many times I guess it is likely. Mom friends are so important!

  • That's what I hate about women, the cattiness.  And I love that the solution was to delete you guys from the Facebook group without so much as a discussion about it.  Geeze.
