cardio challenged

I just started the 30DS 12 weeks after a c section.  I'm fine to do it, was cleared at 6 weeks, but after a few days my back is sore from my gigantic milk jugs.  Jumping jacks are out.  Jump rope, butt kicks, most all cardio is out. I finished todays workout and just stuck to punches for cardio, but that is boring.  Any other ideas of cardio workouts I can do in my living room while the baby is napping that doesn't require a lot of bouncing?  Just for the next 3 months or so. I ended up doing postpartum yoga with Shiva Rea and that was nice, but I want to sweat a little without breaking my back.

Do you have excercise channels on demand or Netflix?  I've done belly dance cardio workouts and they are not "bouncy".  Mat pilates is a pretty good work out too.

  • How about kickboxing DVD? And ditto....a good bra should/could help. I am not big at all but still get annoyed if I feel like I am "bouncing" so a good bra is a must! Also a good bra and a workout top with a built in as well is usually what I do.

What kind of sports bra are you wearing?

This is what I was going to ask. My boobs went from a large B/small C to a freaking DDDD while I was breastfeeding. I wore two tight-fitting sports bras to limit the bouncing. I actually had really good luck with the Champion C9 they carried at Target at the time, but I've heard that they don't work as well for everyone. I would look into a more supportive sports bra, rather than giving up. I did the 30DS, too.

  • Definitely invest in a good sports bra.  I have enormous breasts and I just got the Fiona bra by Moving Comfort.  It is amazing!  Before, I'd have to double and tripe up on bras, but that baby keeps everything in place no matter what I'm doing.  It was not expensive at all--I want to say like $25-30?

I just searched the Fiona and was going to get it at $30 but the reviews say that if you are larger then the Luna is better, but the Luna is $56.  I only plan to breastfeed until 6 months (at 3 now) so I'm having a hard time justifying going over $30 because *fingers crossed* it will be too big soon.  Right now I'm stuffing into my old sports bra.  I was a 34DD before baby, but recently measured a 34H when empty.   I think it's the sheer weight of these beasts reguardless of the bounce, even if they are supported.  In the morning I'm able to pump 10 oz out of a side.  I guess I could pump well before working out but I prefer to nurse her when she wakes up as opposed to giving her a bottle.  I think I'll stick to mat pilates for a few more months.  Better for getting the abs to lay flat again anyway.  I think I do have on demand, I have Fios cable.  I'll look into that later today.
