Any ideas how to make a Peeps/baby chick costume, cheap and easy?

Re: creative people

  • Functional to wear around or just for pictures?
  • i was just looking online for ideas and couldn't find anything... maybe a white onesie and a yellow tutu (they are easy to make). I was thinking boas for feathers but I know those would be ingested...
  • Just for pics...

    a yellow tutu isn't a bad idea...and bunny ears?

  • You could buy fuzzy colored fabric but then sewing would be required. What about a terry cloth baby towel with the little hood for their head? You could get a yellow or pink one and somehow fashion it into a costume?

Well, then you have a cross between a bunny and a chick ;) It could be cute though! How about the yellow tutu, white onesie and a bunch of plastic eggs... and a nest that they can sit in?

  • Making a bunny would be super easy.  They have bunny ears right now in the dollar section of Target...white onesie, cotton ball tail, and bunny ears.  For a chick, I'd do a yellow onesie, the yellow tutu, and maybe an orange or yellow bow in the hair since you can't really do a beak easily.

  • Yeah, I don't know why I didn't think of a yellow onesie. Duh.

This is the parrot outfit I made for Ari for Halloween. Maybe a yellow jacket (if you can find one) and yellow felt (or whichever color you choose).
