Hey Nesties! Tomorrow (Thursday 3/29) we'll be launching our brand new sister site www.theblush.com, which will offer beauty and style tips, skincare advice and much more. To celebrate we're going to have the editor of The Blush, Blush Ysolt, on this board for a Q&A.
Want advice on what shoes to wear with that dress, the best product recommendations for clearing up acne or tips on what eyeshadows will look best with your eye color? Post your style and beauty questions in this thread today and tomorrow and Blush Ysolt will answer them on Thursday, 3/29.
Re: Get Expert Answers to All of Your Beauty Questions
Will The Blush have message boards?
A message board devoted to makeup talk would be sooo fab
What's your favorite blush brush, Blush Ysolt?
1) What are some fun Spring eye trends?
2) What's your favorite budget beauty buy?
If possible, I'd be interested in seeing a picture of Blush Ysolt first, kind of like the various editor pages in Lucky magazine where they are wearing or using a product and a photo is taken and shopping suggestions are given at different price points.
If she doesn't want to provide a picture, then why did The Blush (or parent company of the Knot, the Bump and the Nest) pick her as the editor.
Just curious. The Blush sounds cool.

I would have to say YES to leg warmers! Now I know what you're thinking, but I'm a huge fan of '80s style, and I think we can still rock some '80s trends today -- if we do it right.
Here I am wearing leg warmers, as a matter of fact! I wouldn't suggest to wear leg warmers with leggings though. Try a pair with boots (((to keep warm))) -- not in a bright color.
If you end up wearing 'em, snap a pic and share it with me!
I looove those Lucky mag features, too! It's really nice getting to know who you're reading about, right? Here are some pics that were taken of me a year or so ago when I was a beauty and style editor of a different women's website:
Here's me casual (which is my fave way to dress)
Here I am during New York Fashion Week (I forget what show I was going to, but this is one of my fave outfits of all time -- I love wearing white when I'm uber-tan)
And here's a pic of me rocking menswear trends (which I also love to do -- dressing gender-ambiguous and all)
I hope you enjoy the content on The Blush! Feel free to give us ideas for content you'd like to see -- since we made the site for you guys! xo
1) For spring, we can expect to see a lot of blushy/peachy/bronzey eye lids. We saw the beauty trend at the Thakoon and Narciso Rodriguez shows. It pairs well with dramatic lips in bold colors like reds and corals! If you're tan like me though, it's kind of hard to really showcase the blushy lid. (Phooey!) So you can still do the smoky eye (which I don't think will ever die) -- but only at night. Ladies, never do a smoky eye for day.
2) My favorite budget beauty buy is hands down Physicians Formul Shimmer Strips!!! It's like the foolproof blusher/contourer! It has these layers of color (that you're not supposed to mix up before applying). You just take your kabuki brush (which is my favorite kind of blush brush), sweep it across the shimmer strips (with the light part on top), then sweep it across your cheek. You'll see how awesome it is -- the light part of the shimmer strips will line perfectly under your eyes. And, it takes seconds to apply. Try it and let me know what you think!
