Application/Interview Question

Stupid Nest ate my post.

Take 2:

There are a few places that have openings for receptionist/administrative support but want you to apply in person. How dressed up should I get? Full on suit or just slacks and a blouse? The places are a real estate company and a couple medical offices so it's not a jeans environment(that I imagine). Thoughts?

Re: Application/Interview Question

  • Personally I would just wear nice pants and blouse to go apply.

  • Slacks or nice skirt and a nice blouse.

  • I am an admin, and my general wardrobe is dress pants (black or tan) and a dress shirt whether that be a sweater, blouse, etc. So I would dress as I would expect to dress if I got the job, people envision you fitting into their company when you apply and that goes for appearance as well. If you show up in a suit they may automatically judge you as being overqualified for the position. So long answer short, dress pants and a blouse.

  • I would do pants/skirt and a blouse. I doubt that even working there you would wear a suit.

  • Slacks and a blouse is what I do in that situation.
