Taken from ML: If you won 500 million dollars
what would you do with it?
I would probably cry, then have an anxiety attack.
Pay off all debt, pay off my parent's house, pay off my brother and SIL's debt
Quit my mf'ing job
Travel. Everywhere. For a year.
Invest a ton of it
Buy a house in England
Surgery to remove all my loose skin; you should see it, guys. Not pretty
Give a ton to cancer research. Like, a ton. Some to various animal hospitals and shelters.
Hire a professional chef.
Look with your special eyes.
Re: Taken from ML: If you won 500 million dollars
Pay off all of my debt.
Set aside enough to retire and pay for college for DS.
Put a bunch in savings.
Set up a trust fund for DS.
Pay off my parents' debt.
Travel.
Build my dream home.
I would do so much stuff! That's a lot of money!
The obvious stuff like pay off all debt, loans, etc. I'd quit my job.
Then I'd take a quarter and set up a charitable foundation and then invest a quarter. And with the rest...
Buy a huge piece of land up here on the ocean and build a couple bangin' houses on it. Buy a bunch of animals to live on it, especially a pony for me. Also buy a person to brush and braid the pony's hair.
I'd pay off all our parent's houses. Pay off all our siblings' student loans.
Spend a year yachting around the world. (Oh yeah, I'd buy a yacht)
Then I'd mostly just devote my time to doing what I do now - teach yoga and make awesome food, but on a cracked out level where I never have to worry about anything.
Pay off my debt, including all my college debt, present and future.
Get a new car.
Build a dream house that isn't too humongous.
Pay for pilot lessons (this is on my agenda for next year if I don't get KU in the middle of it)
Buy a 4 seater airplane
Buy a second property in like, florida
Invest at least like 20 million of it so I can live off of it forever
Buy all the Louboutins and Birkins I've ever wanted
Are you serious???
Buy a huge freaking house with a waitstaff ala Downton Abbey - including a Governess. Ability to fly with umbrella required.
Pay off debt for me, my family and my husband's family. Set them up in nice houses, too.
Travel the world with the kids.
Nothing. For at least 2 weeks. Do. Not. Tell. ANYONE.
Then, change my phone number. Change H's phone number. Get a financial planner and an accountant. AccountantS. LawyerS. Really, really beef up our security system... new windows with breakproof coatings, door/window open and glass shatter sensors, the whole 9.
Then, turn in the ticket. Then, go on vacation for 2 weeks. Doesn't matter where... maybe camping.
I would try my hardest to not change our quality of life for at least a year, while the initial tax and legal stuff got wrangled.
Pay off all our debt, my mom and siblings debts.
Pay my brother's babymama some ungodly sum of money to sign over my nephew and never show her face again.
Build our vacation home now!
Oh my god, the shopping.
And donate a ton of money to animal rescues. Maybe even start my own grant fund or something for rescues.
I'd quit my job. Immediately.
Pay off house, buy a better one that isn't falling apart. Pay off car, buy a non-POS. Actually, buy several non-POSs.
Pay off parents'/inlaws' debt.
Go on vacation. Everywhere. Possibly move to Hawaii.
Make sure Toddler Malibu is set for college.
Give a ton of it to animal rescues.
Hire a cleaning staff so I never have to clean again, since I hate it so much.
Give some to all you guys. :-D
Call a financial planner, pay off debt, help a couple friends, invest-invest-invest, quit my job, travel, buy a small house, have a couple more babies, go back to school (most likely teaching, because the money wouldn't really matter), get a new job
All in that order.
Edit: if the economy ever picks up, I would think about opening a small bakery.
Pay off all debt
buy an island somewhere and no longer pay taxes.
That is if I took the cash out.
If i took a yearly payment
pay off all debt - ours and my family's
Give 1 million a year to St. Jude and another Million to Children's Hospitals
enjoy my time with my kids
Stay very very quiet about it.
Buy a nice house. With a barn on the property.
Pay off my parents' and DH's mom's debt.
Probably buy my sister a house.
I don't think I'd quit my job. I like my job and, despite not yet having been in the situation, I am in constant fear of not having any money.
I'd buy a new wardrobe though. You know, where I have more than two pairs of work pants.
Finally not feel like everything I want is too expensive for my obsessive budgeting.
ETA: save for future children's educations
ETA2: have children
Pay off all my debt.
Pay off my parents' debt and buy them their dream B&B to run.
Set aside however much I need to put me through nursing school.
Set up college funds for future kids.
Invest a chunk.
Donate a chunk to a few charities.
Go on a nice long vacation through Europe.
Buy a classic car to fix up.
Put aside some for lipo/lifts after kids.
Get a personal trainer and nutritionist.
New wardrobe.
Sigh, I'll admit that we actually bought some tickets, so we've been dreaming
Pay off our debt, our parents and siblings' houses, give a little gift to bff who struggles as a single mom
Invest half of what's left
Take a trip to Europe and Australia with DH
Buy a beach house and a cabin in the mountains
Get us and my family all electric cars
Take the house we've got (b/c we love where we live) and totally deck it out from top to bottom
And, of course, increase my wadrobe by about 200 percent
What's that? Give some money to ESD? You are so kind.
I would so quit my job (and burn every bridge with that boss)
I would open up my own similar sandwich shop near his
Pay off my student loans
Get a KIA lol
Move out of state (with or without H, I'm outta this State)
