No 16 and pregnant talk yet?

eh- I was looking forward to it, but all the girls seem the same anymore..

Re: No 16 and pregnant talk yet?

  • I disagree. I think the girls each have a unique story and individual goals and ambitions..... But the guys... what kind of parents let their daughters date these losers? They are all just lazy, unmotivated babies.

When I was 16, I wouldn't even have wanted to date a guy that barely talked, didn't work, and disrespected me. I think people need to spend more time focusing on healthy relationships at this point in school. These guys are making the teen moms' lives way harder than it has to be.

  • I wanted to cheer when the one girl (can't remember her name but she was NOT the cheer leader) said  that she thought getting their own place would make them feel like a family and instead it made her feel really lonely. Being that young, not working or having school and living with someone who does work - and hard work - means you are alone a lot and it's not the happy 1950's picture she had in her mind.

  • I was really impressed with the girl who went without an epidural!

She seemed to have a mature attitude about things.

  • Are these guys in HS too or are they older and graduated? I always kinda wish I knew what was going through their heads.

How old was the girl that started college courses? If she was finishing HS and starting college, doesn't that make her like 17 turning 18?

She graduated during her pregnancy, and was starting college at the correct age of 17/18. Not all the girls on the show are 16... And many of the guys are a few years older. Both guys in the first 2 episodes had graduated already.

    Meh... kinda boring.

I thought the cheerleader was dumb and very immature...

The other one had some odd idea about how things would turn out...  it was like she was looking for some fairy tale family.  Being on your own, working, etc is hard work.  But thumbs up for having a med-free birth.  Her mom reminded me of Caitlyn's mom on the original show.

I said the same thing to DH, only not so drugged out looking.

  • I must watch this show too much because I ws kind of impressed by both girls.  The cheerleader was pumping!  I don't think I have ever seen a pump pictured on the show before.  I am very pro BFing but that isn't my point.  It just seems like the frugal choice for such young parents;). Not much else impressive with that couple, though.

The other couple seemed to be pretty mature.  The guy got a real world hardworking job, and the girl actually understood that the parents were doing something for them.  She wanted out of the parents house because she felt guilty taking advantage. What teenage kid thinks like that and yet alone acts on that while being pregnant?  Plus she is pursuing a degree right after birth!  Pitted against the daddy's girl on teen mom 2 ( Can't remember her name!) who finally got a job and couldn't get a GED while living expense free, this is amazing!

  • I liked the cheerleader better than the second girl.  You can tell that the boyfriend who worked in the coal mines was really working hard, you can literally see the coal all over his body and all she did was complain about getting a place, and moving to Denver or wherever she wanted to move.  I wanted to shake her.  I give her massive props for no epidural, but that's about it.  I just thought she was being a brat.  Unless you have the funds set in place, sometimes you have to be realistic about what you can and can't do.

  • I thought both of the episodes were kind of boring. Both couples were more mature than many teens on the show and seem to be good parents. I think some of their interactions or decisions seem immature compared to what we think (eg: preoccupation with moving to Denver), but we're 20, 30, 40 something adults.

Sorry, but I watch for trainwrecks, and so far none in sight this season.

  • Mackenzie (cheerleader) - I liked her.  I really just liked watching her friends tumble and do stunts.  I wish I was that good when I was 16.  I think she'll be okay, she seems to have a good support system.  Her boyfriend needs to get some new shirts though.  Is that a style, cutting the sleeves off all your shirts?  Also, I can't believe her baby was 9 pounds 7 ounces!  Thats huge for her tiny frame!  Good thing she was able to have a c-section.

Katie (wants to move to Denver) - I didn't like her as much.  I wish they went more into why she was living with her boyfriend before they even were pregnant.  She said her mom really values education, well then why did you let your little girl go live and play house with her older boyfriend?  That does not make sense to me at all, what did they expect would happen?  I did like how she was appreciative of everything her boyfriends family has done for them.  Her boyfriend was more realistic, but I wish they would communicate better.

  • I will never understand these 16 year old girls being allowed to move in with their boyfriends and the boyfriend's parents.  I never knew anyone who did that when I was in HS and I just can't imagine letting my daughter move in with her boyfriend as a sophomore/junior.

  • I was excited for this new season, but was pretty underwhelmed.

The "move to Denver" girl's bf was annoying. It irritated me that he didn't want her to go to school.

The cheerleader was cute, but not very interesting.

  • The best line was from the cheerleader.

    Simply classic.

Really? I found her completely immature and in her own fairy-tale land. The way she was saying "I'm moving to Denver and never coming back!" at dinner with her mom was so 14-year old brat. And to complain that her bf worked all day but she was soooo lonely. Guess what? Welcome to real life. I actually felt bad for her bf (even though he had hand tattoos) and thought he could do better than her.

I thought the second guy was actually a pretty good dad. He wanted to join the military, but stayed home and became a coal miner because baby momma wanted a fairy tale happy family. After he did that she made a big stink about how she's going to Denver ASAP, taking the baby, and he can stay there and mine and pay child support. WTF?
