For real! I couldn't make this up. It's not a Japanese airline, either. I am dying laughing over this. I see so much HK stuff in my Japanese tourist town that it doesn't surprise me, but, it kind of does. This is a whole new level, beyond your HK purse and iphone cover.

Re: Hello Kitty planes!
I read this as Hello, Kitty planes. As in, planes with cats on them. Live cats. I was ridiculously excited.
Dear god. I really am a crazy cat lady.

Totally cute. I'm mostly shocked it's not Japanese!
Yep. My niece will completely freak out when she sees these pictures.
Here's a great slideshow of other character planes:

I didn't know there were others. I was actually just looking up that particular airline for something else, and it was advertised.
Do the other planes have the flight attendants dress up?
Sadly, Western Pacific Airlines, who did it, is no more.

and, interestingly, it was done as advertising:

I don't think so.
We see a lot of special liverys here, because Alaska Airlines (who fly a lot of planes out of SeaTac) is quite fond of them.
for some reason, I can't insert pics right now... but if you want to see something funny, google Alaska Air Salmon and GIS.
